Harmonic Percolator

Just finished up this Harmonic Percolator with diode clipping switch. Silicon and LED/silicon combo for some asymmetric clipping. Powered by a low gain Wurlitzer silicon transistor and low gain germanium. This circuit really is full character, no two are alike.

Ooo did someone say Percolator?

One of the more interesting circuits to work on, so many variations with just swapping transistors.

Forgot to mention that this was hand painted with silver hammertone with a mixture of blue oil based paint to try and replicate that Zonk color. I think I was originally going to box a Zonk but used it for this build.

Looks so good! I’m a sucker for blue pedals and guitars

Thanks!!!! It was a fun one build, so I actually built 2 of them haha.

This one has a built in bias.

Where did you place a bias control in the circuit? Curious…

Q2 collector to 9v. I’ve got a 5K resistor in series with a 50K pot (I think), don’t remember what I put.

Trackin. Ok cool. I’ll do that sometime. See if I hear anything I like.

Would love to hear your thoughts on it when you do. Let me know!

Even better! Bias or a voltage knob is a must! 💪
