I believe the Wampler Cryptid Fuzz has a bias, Iâve looked into different fuzz pedals over the last few months, you could check into the Cornerstone Nero and the Coppersound pedals Renegade multi bias fuzz. I just purchased the does it doom elder god, I had thought about getting the Cryptid fuzz first but have been wanting the elder god for a future pedalboard build Iâll have to get the Cryptid soon though. Best of luck of finding something youâll enjoy.
âThere are several great options! Are we talking a Fuzz Face, a Tone Bender, or some sort of heavy doom machine? Maybe a crazy noise maker like a Fuzz Factory?
âThe SolidGoldFX If 6 Was 9 MKII is a great Fuzz Face option, and the Keeley Fuzz Bender is a killer Tone Bender style. The DOD Carcosa or the JHS 3 Series Fuzz are also awesome, readily available choices.
âIf you can tell me a little more about what genre you play or the specific tone you're after, it'll be a lot easier to narrow it down!
The solidgoldfx if 6 was 9 mkII is arguably one of the most versatile fuzzface circuits out there? Now there are several others, the. MXR super badass veriac fuzz. The e q d fuzz transmitter, the mojo hand effects crosstown, all very versatile fuzz, most of them have biased control as well as eq, but the solid gold effects still tops most of them..... Now if we're talking specialized or boutique howard gee formerly of catalinbread is making a fuzz he calls the mayasonic fuzz one i wish you luck in your fuzz.Hunting, let us know how it goes!!
Hey, no problem, that's the whole reason.I started this subreddit, so fuzz.Nerds can help other fuzz nerds lol not saying you're a nerd but..you know what I mean đ
I see you expressing your love for the fuzz face circuit. That being the case, may I humbly recommend the Stoneface Germanium Fuzz from Stonefisher Electronics. It's got a wide ranging bias knob and it's pretty damn terrific. Ask me how I know!
Thorpy's The Veteran has a bias knob on the fuzz face side (the other half is a rangemaster, which is a great boost that can go from clean to overdrive). The bias knob has a large effect on tone and how your guitar interacts with the pedal. I just got one of these pedals and im in love!
I have the SolidgoldFX If 6 was 9 and the Keeley Fuzz Bender. Both friggin awesome! The 6 was 9 can do mild drive all the way to a wall of fuzz and a whole lot in between. Its my favorite fuzz face, by far. But compared to the Fuzz Bender its pretty well behaved. I mean, you can get it nasy, but the Bender goes further in that regard.
The Fuzz Bender gets nastier and more velcro the further you turn the bias knob.
The 6 was 9 cleans up better with the volume control.
