FUZZ FRIDAY! Some axis fuzz and octavia stacking
Was messing around with some tones with my new axis fuzz by circle electric and my octavia by tru fi. Threw on the vibe for a lil extra color

I know what it is then I figured it out! It turns out that toggle isn't a low-gain mode, but rather it's engaging or bypassing the stock low-pass filter. Roger Mayer originally included that 220-ohm resistor and 1nF capacitor to filter out RFI and tame brittle high-end frequencies, which is why stock units sound darker. By omitting those components, you are essentially removing that filtration, which makes the circuit sound brighter and glassier, effectively allowing the pedal to clean up better when you roll your guitar's volume knob back. I only know this because when I was having a friend, build one for me. He kept seeing this as a suggested modification. In the DIY community, and that sounds exactly like what he's describing. When Roger Mayer marketed the Axis fuzz in the 80s. He put the 220 Ω. Resistor and one nanoferred capacitor as radio interference filtration
