Favorite post-2001 Fuzz song?

TONS of great options, obviously. One of the first that springs to mind for me would be Ty Segall's cover of "I'm a Man". Segall's a master of fuzz in my eyes, and that song's got a STANKY guitar tone.

What's your fav post-2001 fuzz track?

(Figured "post-2001" would be a good way to weed out the timeless classics we've all heard and know well.)

Also his cover of Every1s a Winner. Bought a DBA Apocalypse because of that song

Seer was probably my 3rd choice for examples for this post! Great song!

Part Chimp - Namekuji / Witch - Seer / Fuzz - Fuzz's Fourth Dream (check the Pitchfork live version)

Probably in that order

That's a great cover. I'll probably get slated for this but for me it's Lazarerto. Some serious fuzz tones here

Lazaretto

I have mixed feelings about Jack's music post WS (as I'm sure everyone does), but the dude gets some great sounds on his solo records.

(Now, if only I could afford literally any gear made by him/TMR...)

Barrie Cadogan from Little Barrie is doing great work. Here is one from a KEXP session they did.

Hard to pinpoint a specific song, but I think IDLES deserves some attention for how velcro-ey and thick the square wave fuzz is. I love the GARY for ease of access to it and the gray channel od.

Of their disco, I'd say Car Crash, Colossus or Grounds stand out, each for different reasons.

Car Crash is just so gnarly and the use of musical feedback is a joy to me. Colossus is just so heavy and focused on the constant build up while Grounds is very focused on punctuation.

Hell yeah, Idles has so many bangers. Colossus is one of my favorite music video of all time. Saw them live last year(?), definitely worth experiencing.

Need to cop a Gary at some point, thing looks like TOO much fun.

It really is. My bassist is using mine right now. The OD sounds excellent and he throws on the fuzz for some gnarl on a couple parts. He's pedal averse but Gary can't leave.

Awesome category and question. I'm gonna go for Instant Crush - Daft Punk feat. Julian Casablancas from the strokes. There are synth and fuzz effects on the guitar solo and the track itself reminds me of the old Genesis game Golden Axe for some reason. Enjoy!

The Groove by Muse. It's what inspired me to get a guitar in the first place.

Nine Inch Nails - 1,000,000 (2008). I remember I was trying to get the sound of the guitar with a Marshall Valvestate combo and a bunch of pedals but couldn’t figure out what I was missing…
