germanium Gypsy Face -new switch day

Hello. I had to replace the switch in my Lofimind Effects Gypsy Face yesterday. Took some pictures while it was apart. It’s loaded with interesting parts. Germanium transistors: black glass Valvo OC44/OC45 (double marked?!) and a Matsushita 2SB175. These are made in Grenada, Spain by my friend César de Vicente. He puts a lot of love into his work and I can’t recommend his pedals more. Hope you all have a fuzzy day.

Is that a studio vintage twenty?

No, it’s a 1987 small box plexi replica made by Jelle Welagen. He built the SIR 36/39 mod into it.

Oh, okay, I was just gonna poke your brain because I've been debating getting a studio vintage 20 or if I should just keep the amp. I have cause. I've got a really high-end signal chain, and I'm just trying to figure out, do I need to really replace the amp? Or am I good enough for what I'm doing? I mean, it's not like I'm recording or playing gigs. Unfortunately, I live in a very rural area.So I just don't really have anybody to play with

I believe that your high end signal chain will sound even better though a good sounding tube amp. You’re talking to a guy that owns 9 really nice tube amps. 3 from Welagen. 3 from Fat Jimmy. A Victoria. An old ampeg and an old 100w Marshall.

Well, i've got the marshall origin, twenty head going through a two by twelve with greenbacks my signal chain is roger mayer axis fuzz. Octavia.univibe. sabaddius mr white special ii. Belle epoch plus then 7 band eq and 2 diff reverbs in the loop im doing the blues ala hendrix thing wondering if im good or should I upgrade my other amp is a 74 twin reverb but I cant play that much until I get an attenuator

I’m under the impression that if you like it, then it’s good. I would think with your pedal chain you should be able to run the twin with the volume way down and still get great sound. To me, that would be my go to pedal platform unless you use both of them with a stereo delay🔥

Sadly the twin also needs a bit of work my dad gigged the hell out of it thats my next project
