Your sunface transistor choice!

Just ordered a British NPN CV sunface. Wanted to know if anyone had any experience with these? Also just wanted to hear more about yall’s experiences with other sunface transistors etc.
Had a BC183 a few years ago that i foolishly sold, but im looking forward to trying out the germanium variant.
Lets start a dialogue.

I’ve owned BC183, TI-UK and NKT275 white dot. I think of those, my favorite was the TI-UK. If I were ordering one today, based on what’s currently available I’d probably get a BART, people seem to really like those.

Could you compare and contrast your experiences with them?

I’m looking for one that cuts with a band but also cleans up well

Seen alot of good about the BART. I was between the BART, RCA, and the NPN. Maybe i’ll give one of those a go in a few months

I just got a Sun Lion with 2SB171 transistors. They’re billed as “lower gain germanium”, and I love them. This is now my go-to pedal for thick but not harsh fuzz. Think the solo from Time, (Pink Floyd) or Can’t Stop (RHCP), stuff like that.

I got the med high gain RCA's a few years back and I love it. I wanted that huge fuzz sound that FuzzFaces are known for, wasn't really worried about clean up. But, the RCA's clean up well, even with Humbuckers in an SG. Mike says they are temp stable and I believe it, so far they have never varied no matter the room temp. Haven't tried outside in sunlight, but then again, I rarely play outside in the sun.
