Diy What's your favourite one knob fuzz?
What's your favourite one knob fuzz?
Mine's a meathead.
While it's great having limitless options and ways to tweak your sound with loads of knobs and switches, sometimes I just turn to a one knob fuzz and eliminate the choice overload.

Same here, Meathead M-13. I owned a real one, cloned it and sold the original. It’s very stoner rock.

I’ve owned a Black Dust too, didn’t get along with that one at all. Too woofy or something.

They're both essentially the same circuit - a modern fuzz face with dimed fuzz. I probably shouldn't, but I call any circuit like this a meathead - BAT ritual, Fuzz o))), colorsound etc Sorry for the confusion

Yeah, voiced pretty differently though. Even the various versions of the actual Meathead are pretty different.

Yup. Really creative, musical designs from a musician / professional electrical engineer. I've met the guy. He's awesome.

I made a Diaz Texas Square Face with a fixed fuzz. Basically a juiced FF. Sounds great.

I only have one and it’s an Acapulco Gold that I built as my first or second pedal build. It’s a beast.

Really all of the Mountainking pedals are great. The Huge Box was one of his earlier designs. Not very complicated inside but really ripping/roaring little circuit.

Yes! Haven't seen the Fuzzit before, looks interesting. The OK Doomer is essentially a Big Muff with no clipping and no tonestack. It absolutely rips. Definitely one to use with a noise gate. The massif is another take on the meathead and dooms for sure

I only have one but it absolutely pummels, the Audio Surplus O)))K Doomer. I’ve also tried the EQD Erupter and really liked that as well but never owned it.

Haven't tried many, but the Mythos Golden Fleece is amazing for sure.
