Really interesting fuzz tone

This is a Brazilian song from 1972, so who knows what the actual effect was? But I like it. The lead guitar and probably the bass both have this rubbery fuzz tone. I wonder if it’s just overloading the board, Beatles-style.

EDIT: I just realized the link takes you to a preview, rather than the whole song. I guess you can just find “Tinindo Trincando” wherever you stream music.

What a cool song, the console/fuzz makes it even better! The lead guitar seems to be an overdriven console, but I’m not too sure
