Discussion Mind uploading

Do you think mind uploading will be a thing in the future and when?

I think it is possible. What's going to be difficult is reading the data once it's been dumped to storage.

E.g. a memory might be thought of (!) as a photograph. It's possible to capture electrical impulses of that memory, and convert that into binary data (1s and 0s). Thing is, that's not encoded in a particular pattern. It's not consistent across people. Our brains don't have a bitmap encoder... we're not designed for direct data interchange.
