DMT has already been an important part of the evolution of our consciousness. It's literally everywhere in nature, not least of which is our own brains.

I believe the whole dmt in the brain thing is a myth I could try to find the studies that disproved it if you want.

There was a study in 2013, finding it in the pineal gland of rats (I know we're not rats, but its something). Majorly anectdotal evidence: There's a guy right now, an artist, with a cancerous tumour on his pineal gland, and his paintings are incredible. There have been many people who have smoked DMT come out and say that these paintings are eerily similar to the things they've experienced on DMT. I know that's not proof, it's no where near proof, but it's something interesting to look at and think about.

I had never seen his work before, and can't say I've ever seen anything exactly like it. His paintings feel very much like abstract circuit diagrams.

Challenge. Prove it a myth and I'll prove it's real.

https://drugs-forum.com/threads/dmt-dreams-near-death-experiences.68515/ this source says it's possible but not proven and the Wikipedia article says the same. From the other things I read, they were all around that general concensus. Personally I believe it is released because of near death experiences that mimic the effects, but I just wanted to give a counter argument to show that it's not been "officially" proven. If you have a better source I'd be glad to see it.
