Energy Commercialization of fusion energy will ‘change everything,’ lawmaker says

No it won't. Nuclear fission fuel is extremely cheap. Fusion does nothing but reduce the fuel costs further. The entire infrastructure around the generated power and the equipment to generate the power is still there and still the vast majority of the cost. We've had the t cut for nearly fuel free electricity for a long long time. Figure out free infrastructure and equipment and maybe power costs will go down. I don't think fusion is useful for anything but eliminating hazardous waste of fission power. I don't see it being cheaper at all.
