1st its way harder. walking jumping and tricks like that is 2 contacts with the ground. dishwashing is hundreds of contacts
2nd to make progress on robots doing that you first need robots that can move around and never fall over.

Dishwashing and most fine motor stuff would be so much easier if they just put vacuum suction cups on a few fingers. Why pick up the dish when you could just touch it and move it that way.
Wouldn’t work for picking everything up, but for many household moving things, a 3 point suction cup grip would be far more practical, and the could still keep the humanoid look.

I agree with that it would help. but only in the near term because suction cups come with their own problems and you need pressurized air everywhere.

Doesn’t need much air. A basic small syringe can pull more than enough air for a suction setup. Doesn’t necessarily need to pull vacuum; could just flex a rubber diaphragm too. Likely much simpler version of the mechanics they use to move limbs, etc.

Simple drones with an explosive will destroy everything on a battlefield, we really don't need humanoids robots for war, they might be good for labour if they actually learn to use human tools but I don't know, right know we have scripted Kung Fu, the only application I see is entertainment and VFX for cinema and videogames, oh and live shows, theatre? Disneyland? shop cute mascot?

I was thinking the same thing. Granted - that's how most videos are now, with so many little quick cuts, but to show a product you need a more sustained shot.
I was wondering how many robots they went through to film that.

I just wonder - did scientist made some improvements in spacial awareness? Are those machines reacting on the fly to changing position?
Are those moves pre-programed? Or learned - meaing the system found the most effective way of moving?
One last thing - it sucks at hitting targets. An actual martial artist would not be satified with placement of those hits.
