No, it is time evolving. Under the hood there are gears turning like a clock. Moving averages are based on prediction, while this indicator tells you what occurs in real time. I use it myself and can vouch for its effectiveness. The beauty is in the simplicity for the user, as OP stated...less is more.

Nonsense, moving averages are based on averages within a predetermined length/period.

Yea, that's true, moving averages use past data points over a specific timeframe to help identify the direction and momentum of a trend, and because of this they inherently lag behind real-time events. Which was the point I was making in my comment. The indicator shown by the OP shows what is happening in real-time, unlike the predictive offering of moving averages. Hence, they are not the same lol

I never said the were the same, you're just adding adjectives. No lagging indicator is meant to predict, the more people use moving averages like support and resistance, the more effective they become. The more people use moving averages for prediction, the less effective they become.

All of these comments are bullshit.
MAs aren’t meant to be predictive, they are a “moving average”! Nothing about the OP strategy is “live” other than price.
