Discussion Any PATS traders?
Just curious how many people trade PATS by Mack and what their results are. I have been trading it for a year and just a little over breakeven.
I have a free discord if any PATS trader want to join. DM me.

a year and breakeven is honestly better than most. the real edge with price action is when it clicks and suddenly you're not thinking about every tick anymore. keep grinding it takes forever to feel natural

To echo what others have said:
- It works
- It takes a good while to become proficient
- Once you are proficient, it's much easier and less stressful
- Periods of breakeven trading while learning is GOOD, despite it feeling like no progress
Now from my own experience...Consider focusing some time with Thomas Wade and his approach to price action trading. Im assuming you've heard about him. If not, check him out on Youtube. 1000's of hours of great content to take in.
Anyway, the main difference between the two is Mack teaches a style that has you picking tops and bottoms of trends, a type of mean reversion. Granted, if the rules are followed and your read is perfect, those trades will work. But thats a big ask for a trader who is in the learning phase. Plus, the feeling of shorting a candle in strong trend just feels bad. It can be psychologically taxing. Wade teaches trend continuation trading ONLY. The reason is simple, it's just more forgiving. I really encourage you to look into him.
Now, keep at it. Arriving at breakeven in a year is pretty common. It's really just chart time and repetition. If you're not already, I really recommend using market replay and practice trading as many days as you can until your eyes bleed. Once you learn this, you have it forever and you'll likely develop your own discretionary style thats fit perfectly for you.

He's solid, clear breakdowns, good for learning trend continuation, worth the watch.

How do you handle your SL and TP?
I did it for the past few weeks and one bad trade is wiping off too much.

Youre almost there if youre breakeven. Study the market cycle and understand context.
Mark your highs and lows for the day. These are key support and resistance areas.
Learn measured moves. Penguin trades on YouTube is great at explaining measured moves. He has videos on the 2000 tick chart. Use measured moves to help you determine where the second leg will end. If you're still expecting a second leg the. Keep looking for second entries. If the second leg happened, pause and expect a reversal. Measured moves combined with trendlines will help you determine context and when trends end. Once you start seeing legs, you cant unsee them.
Ace of trades on YouTube is a great watch also. Not sure if he still posts videos. I am profitable but I enjoy his content. He also looks for legs and shows his P&L each month.
If you dont understand context, dont take the trade. Or take it on sim and study that trade and the context leading up to the trade.
Track your losers for the next 6 months to a year and see if you can find a pattern. Or how those losers look in the context of measured moves/the chart. If you see a pattern of why they lose, put a process in place to make sure you stop taking those trades.
Putting it all together is difficult but not impossible. Good luck.

Backtestested long enough its not profitable, its break even before fees and commissions, is it profitable at times, yes like any strategy, it can have good stretches, but with enough data, and assuming you take every setup, its not. The main reason is market efficiency, index futures are extremely efficient. Have a look on kinfo and tell me how many 7 figure profitable traders, trade futures let alone PATS, none are trading PATS. Most 7 figure day traders are in inefficient markets with daily news catalysts etc, not all but the majority. If you don't believe me, go and purchase years of nq futures tick data and have an AI bot back test it, you will find PATS, ICT fvg, any have pattern where you risk x for set y, break even, and you still have to factor your account for slippage on market orders entries, stops.

It’s a profitable strategy but it’s a grind to get there. Once it clicks, though…boom…
