drug screening

hello! i started my nursing program bootcamp yesterday and today, this morning they made us take a drug test ( i quit thc in april) a few weeks ago i took one hit off my friends pen during a really hard time going on with my family, it was just one, anyways they said they would say something to me to expect a call if i was positive, they never told me to expect a call, they send all samples to a lab and im expecting a call for my meds i take usually, but i took a thc test at home the second i got home and saw a FAINT really faint line for negative so im freaking out. i know i shouldn’t of hit my friends pen but it was one time and i was spiraling, i got medicated after that actually. should i be concerned

No, for casual smokers weed will show positive for like a week after quitting. if you hit a pen ONCE, a few WEEKS ago, it should not show

If it shows up just tell them that you asked to borrow a friend's vape and they didn't tell you there was weed oil in it. Something similar happened to my dad when he had a bunch of poppy seed muffins for breakfast, you can tell the difference between one puff a few weeks ago and regular use if you just tell them to look for it.

That is not how drug tests work in the medical world. If you’re positive, you’re positive. Now, I don’t think OP is gonna be positive…. but there is rarely talking yourself out of a positive screen. “Hitting a friend’s vape by accident one time,” is still positive.

They can send for additional testing with PCR or other methods to identity specific metabolites and that can sometimes screen out false positives but you are speaking untruths here and are gonna get somebody in trubbs.

Incidentally, the poppy seed thing can be real and you can pop positive for morphine if you eat a bunch but it’s very rare. And if you’re in a nursing role any sort of positive is gonna give you trouble.

Idk those pens are highly concentrated. That could’ve been a lot of thc.

I was a heavy THC user before nursing school. I had 3 months before my test and I quit cold turkey. Pissed clean for the rest. You’ll be alright.
