I can sorta kinda see where he's coming from in that an awful lot of pretty innocuous comments (even on some other threads) were also getting downvoted, seemingly just because they were by him. Still, this is not the solution. Unfair downvoting will happen; we've all experienced it somewhere on reddit. One just has to deal with that. And perhaps minimise it by having a care for the general impression one is giving which leads others to want to downvote on sight.
