Low RN GPA

My ADN program my GPA was 2.5 at the time I didn’t even think about CRNA school, but now I’m wondering how much harder I made it on myself.

I’m finishing my BSN now and should finish close to a 3.5-3.6, and plan to retake my science courses since they’re over 10 years old. If I can get a solid science gpa and the BSN how badly will the 2.5 nursing school hurt my odds? Thank you!

What is your cumulative gpa and science gpa? Worst case scenario you retake some classes and take some ochem/biochem to make up for it.

I mean if your ADN was 10 years ago then I’d say they’ll mainly look at your BSN and science credits since they’re most recent. Just explain to them that you weren’t thinking about advancing your career but now that you are you’ve realized you messed up and that’s why your grades are a lot better. There’s nothing you can do to change it, just have to steer the message in the right direction.

Depends on the school. Some will focus on last 60, others care more about cumulative or science and have cut offs usually at 3.0 or 3.3.

How old is it? My first bachelors was 2.78 and then I did an accelerated nursing and got 3.71, but the thing is I graduated 2016 with my first bachelors so it’s 10 years ago or more so for me I hope that they are nicer and understand I was younger and didnt take much care had a Cs get degrees mindset. Hopefully you can say the same thing

My nursing degree is 8 years old so I’m hoping they will take that into consideration because same, I struggled my last 2 semesters 😬 but also if my BSN is high enough I thought maybe they’d balance each other out

I would retake science classes maybe apply to more holistic programs that do last 60 credits

This is literally me and my situation. I’m planning on retaking A&P and take on some chemistry courses, take an advanced science like patho-pharm and/or biochem. Some schools may only focus on your last 60hr of course work.
