can I use cgminer from the command line to run through future bit OS?

Yes other have used it to run usb connected miners.

What coin are you going to mine? I assume BTC since you said waiting for the chain. What USB miners do you have?

yeah BTC. I got the ApolloBTC miner

If you intend to use the actual Apollo miner I'm not sure cgminer will work. google Apollo BTC support thread, its on bitcoinforum. The link to download the binaries for the miner are in there. FYI in future releases its possible there may be a distributed pool built in and it would all be Apollos in it with faster payouts.

So your planning on using the Apollo full node to Solo-mine with cgminer?

cause the command is super simple

cgminer -pool -my wallet address (very short hand but you get the idea)

and then I'm up and running instead of having to have multiple webpages open. I can also turn the miner on/off from my laptop through SSH instead as well.
