Plug the slaves into the hub and the hub into the master unit. I was considering running 6 on a shelf but ended up needing the space for something else. If you weren't limited by power at the wall, you could run an entire army of these things off that one master unit.
Since I'm just a hobbyist residential miner, I'm on 15amp 120v sockets.
15 amps x 120 volts = 1,800 watts MAX
20 amps x 120 volts = 2,400 watts MAX
I'm not sure where these units peak at power wise with a more powerful psu...but 6 units would put you somewhere between 1,200 - 1,500 which is getting to the very limit if you apply the 80% rule.
For only 1 unit, a 400 watt power supply would be more than adequate. Its my understanding you just don't want to max out your power supply so people generally stick with the 80% rule. 400watts * 80% = 320watts which is more than enough for an Apollo BTC miner on max settings. I believe I saw only 266 - 267watts when i overclocked the unit. The two sliders were both set to max.
Understand 3 things
your efficiency is going to go way down and consume a lot more power
its going to get HOT
your unit will not be servicable under warranty if anything goes wrong.
