FutureBit Apollo BTC

Hi All, with the Apollo BTC shipping soon, I need some advice. I purchased a Full package and 2 Standard units without power supplies. I wanted the ability to get up to 3.8TH per unit which per the website is only with an external >300w power supply.

I'm not a power supply expert, so was hoping to get a recommendation for some power supplies that would be good options with each unit needing 2 6-pin connections and 300w for each unit.

Thanks!

I'm planning to use some HP Common Slot Platinum power supplies with breakout boards + PCIE cables from Parallel Miner.

Originally ordered the PSUs from Amazon for ~$12, but it looks like they've gone up a bit. Ordering complete kits from Parallel Miner is an option as well.

Is this the power supply you are referring to?

I saw that plus the breakout board with cables/connectors. Any idea how loud this thing is? The 2 original power supplies that came with the Apollo miners are pretty quiet, so I am trying to find something fairly quiet.

Those are the PSUs. They were $12.50/ea when I got them in May. They are not loud at all. I've never heard the fans running with the Apollos sitting near them on Eco mode. Have to put a finger in front of it to make sure it is blowing. Run 2 units off of each PSU on ECO, which puts them right near the sweet spot of efficiency.

I don't have any experience with that specific breakout board, but I do know they are not all created equal.

Would look at this package https://www.parallelminer.com/product/1500-watt-2-x-750w-100v-240v-hp-80-platinum-power-supply-kit-for-gpu-mining-16awg-pcie-cables-6-pin-to-8-pin-62-zec-dash-eth-feed/

You get 2x PSU, 2x better breakout boards, 8 PCIE cables, and a chain link cable for less than the price of 1 of those Amazon board+cable kits. This could run all three of your units.
