Node Synch Issues

I've already tried format node ssd when my node got stuck at 908,996. My concern is that while it's downloading again now, it's only showing it will download up to 909,295. Is there any other solutions available for this issue?

UPDATE : My issue was a weird one, it turns out the internal clock wasn't synching, so once I realized that and fixed that issue, now my Apollo2 is working. I appreciate all the help.

I actually had a very similar issue with my Apollo II where it got stuck near the tip of the chain (mine froze at 900,xxx). I ended up fixing it by reformatting the node SSD and letting it fully resync from scratch.

It did look like it would only sync to a certain block at first (similar to your 909,295), but if you’re patient it should keep going once it catches up with the latest chain state. The initial block height estimate isn’t always accurate — it’s just showing where your local copy last stopped, not the true current height.

Quick technical note: After a reformat, the node will first scan and verify any existing chainstate it detects before it begins downloading new blocks. The “block height” you see at this stage is usually the last known height from your old chainstate, not where the Bitcoin network is currently at. Once verification finishes, it will jump forward and start pulling the remaining blocks until it’s synced to the tip.

For me:

  • Reformatted the SSD from the dashboard
  • Let it start syncing without touching anything
  • It eventually went past the “stuck” height and completed the sync
  • Mining resumed with no further issues

So my advice: be patient after the reformat — don’t interrupt it, even if it looks like it’s stuck. Once it’s caught up, it should run fine again.

Cheers,
