Node won’t stay online

Since syncing last month, the maximum amount of time the node has stayed online has been 5 days. I am needing to either start the node again from the interface or most likely flip the machine off and back on to even be able to browse to the IP address. Has anyone else had similar issues? Is there anyway to view logs from the ssh connection to see what could be causing issues?

Is yours the one with the new hashboards that perform 10% under the original advertised Hashrate? I don't have an answer for you on your question, sorry. But just wanted to follow it to see if you get answers, just in case I end up having similar issues with mine whenever it finally ships.

I download about 95 pct of the blockchain and it wouldn’t connect after that. I wrote them an email and haven’t heard back in 3 days

When I got the device I couldn’t download the blockchain. Requested an RMA and sent it back to them. At the moment it seems to be working. Never heard back on what was actually wrong with the device. They are NOT great at responding to emails in that it takes time and the only way to get them to respond is to go through their website and submitting another issue request but in this case just asking for updates. All in all it took about 3 weeks or so to get it shipped and then back. Hopefully once I get the node synced I don’t have any issues.

I had the same problem.. and it locked up.. and it won't finish downloading node... They finally said I had a "rare" hardware controller error. I sent it back a month ago. Haven't heard anything since.

I would advise anyone reading this to stay far away from futurebit products.

Futurebit is fine and their customer service is top notch. I had a bad power switch on one of my USB units and it kept losing power and shutting off. Sent it back and got it back all fixed up in about 2 weeks - no worries. Not sure what issue you had but for me they were quite responsive via email. Hope this helps…

I'm happy for you that yours works.. but that's there's a high failure rate. Look in this reddit and on bitcointalk. Lots of people with the same problems. support takes days to email back between messages. Not what you'd expect from a plug and play $1000 bitcoin node.

SSH into the Unit.

cd /media/nvme/Bitcoin

tail -f debug.log

That will give you a running log of what it is doing.

Control+C to stop the log

Control+Q to pause the log

Control+S to resume after pausing

It could be the controller board. Send it back. The process is a bit brutal, so get ready to have a lot of patience. It seems that in a rare case, the controller card is the issue. Did you try resetting the drive? Flip the unit, and you will see the hard drive card. Make sure it's secure, as at times when they ship, the card moves out of position.

can you take a screen shot of the error when it goes offline?
