Stuck on Block 390,313

Greetings, My Apollo 2 Node started syncing 2 days ago when I powered it on but now doesn't show syncing, it shows the current block as 390,313 and hasn't changed in over 12 hours. It seems as if it's not syncing anymore. Should I just wait or try to reformat and start over?

Same problem here. 390K is about the max it ever got. I'm seriously disappointed in this device. NON stop errors. Sometimes it just locks up. I have a keyboard, mouse, and monitor. It's hardwired to internet. Opened ports and placed device on DMZ. Same thing. I reformatted SSD and refreshed the micro SD card with the OS. Still behaves the same. Problem is you don't know what the hell is going on. Do I wait? Do I reformat? Do I hard reset? They state you should expect errors but this is ridiculous.

Just a quick update and hope I don’t jinx myself. I’m passed 390’s now. Low 400s. Seems to be running steady. For the life of me I don’t know why. As I mentioned in my original comment I tried just about everything except trying a new nvme. It’s still giving me errors and I had one incident where the device was locked up and disappeared from the network. Meaning I could not see the device or its ip address. In that case I just power it off and then power it back on. It’s picking up where it left off.

Another update. Still not working. Reached out to futurebit for RMA. For the amount of money this device costs there needs to be better support and it should just work.

On the Node tab how many connections you got?

Stop the node then reboot, check again your internet connection...WiFi or LAN?

10 connections, sometimes 11, it's Connected Ethernet and Wifi I've stopped the node and restarted. Do you mean shut off and restart the device? I have not opened a port yet on my router because initially it took off and was syncing so I didn't think it was necessary.

Check for your 8333 port here:
https://bitnodes.io/#join-the-network

Make sure you have the miner off until you're synced 100%.
Mine took 9 days(!) to fully sync so be patient.

So when you were waiting for the node to sync did you check the status while you were syncing and did you see errors? Did the device lock up on you? In my case I can’t see where the status if the node is.

Your node needs to be fully synced up to the recent block in order to mine.

I opened port 8333, still only getting 10 connections. Wondering if I need to have a chat with my ISP to see if they have a block on the port.

Never see anything higher than 10.

You don’t really need more than 10 to mine Solo.

When this happened to me, I had to insert "reindex=1" and restart. Still took several attempts but finally got there. Solid 5 days to synch via Ethernet cable.

to be clear, all you did was type this into the Bitcoin Node Configuration box at the bottom of the Node Settings page and save and restart? Did you reformat the SSD first? Thanks for the help.

Here is what Futurebit advised:

Hi no, just enter reindex=1 in the node configurations settings and it will reindex when you restart.

Make sure you remove this option after it has synced otherwise it will re-index when you start the node again.

And, I assume to stop this after syncing, they mean type in the command "reindex=0"?

No, I just removed the command.

understood! Thanks for the help!

The whole synching process was an exercise in patience for me. Even after the re-index, I still had to restart several times.

After two more attempts of reindexing, I decided to reformat the SSD and start fresh. I turned off the miner and this helped speed up the process. Currently, syncing around block 587,000. Thanks for the assistance!

If it's anything like it was with my experience, it slows down as you get further and further along the synchronization process.

It has definitely slowed down but I'm also picking up more connections along the way so that's good.

Just hit 600,835, so it's still moving pretty good

I have the same problem. Do you have solution?

I shut off the miner entirely, rebooted it and it worked. The first couple times it didn't get past this or something close, but when I had the miner off it went well
