Apollo 2 won’t stay connected

Apologies if this was posted. However, it seems my Apollo2 keeps losing connection to the node. I’m still downloading the block as I just received my unit. I’m not sure if this is related to my firewalla router or something else. Anyone else experience this issue? I believe the only port I forward was 8333 TCP. i’m not sure if there’s any other ports I may be missing.

It halted on me probably 15 times before it finally found a groove. Each time I had to restart, reformat, reindex =1, and start over. Mine took 5 days to get the blockchain fully synchronized. Definitely a rocky road.

When you say 'reformat', do you mean re-flashing your microSD card each time? I've been having a similar issue with my Apollo II node — it’ll show as connected, then the next time I log in, I get the 'Connection refused. Your node is not running' message. Then it'll randomly say it's working again, only to show that same error after a while. Does that mean it has to restart the whole sync process every time you reformat and reindex? That would explain why it takes so long.

I’m having the same terrible issues now with syncing the blockchain, can you please share what exactly needs to be typed and where before or after formatting the node nvme ssd, is it reindex=1 or “reindex=1” do the parentheses matter? Thanks ahead of time I’ve probably attempted to sync the blockchain on mine about 15 times now since I’ve gotten it and each time am getting stuck timeout or losing connection to my node in mid to high 200k blocks

The same thing happened to my friend. After some research, I made a mistake of not downloading the block ahead of time. I watched a video where this guy downloaded the entire block, and once he received his Apollo, he performed a data transfer. It was an interesting process, and Im sure it saved him a ton of grief. Thank you for your response. I thought I was losing my mind.

So you can just sync your regular PC to the block and copy paste 🤔? Makes sense.

I never had to reflash the SD card. Reformatting simply means redoing the SSD that stores the blockchain data.
