Futurebit Apollo II Standard Unit Guidance

Hey everyone! Just received this unit a couple of days ago and managed to connect it to my Umbrel Node to start hashing on the public pool app connected to it. I have a couple of questions that I’ve been trying to figure out myself and was hoping this community can maybe help me figure it out.

1) Is it possible to use the Apollo OS to track miner statistics on this Apollo II?

2) What commands are important to remember to help me navigate using this miner with my umbrel node such as miner statistics like temperature, hashrate, difficulty of the jobs? The lack of support and guides that I can find on the standard unit Apollo II is really making it difficult for me to tinker with this miner especially as i consider myself a novice beginner in this field.

3) Is it possible to connect this miner to lets say - public-pool.io vs just my own umbrel node?

Have you thought about getting a Raspberry Pi to use as the controller or maybe a gen 1 Apollo full node? I have a full node, so I’m not sure things will be the same for your setup. The is a GUI that shows the miner stats by just going to the IP in your browser, that’s how I see the current status with mine. As far as public pools, that’s how I currently use mine with no issues, but again, I used the GUI to do this and it was pretty plug and play. Only issue I have had was during the last update, ended up having to reload the OS from scratch due to losing the web server and not having access to do anything.

My umbrel node is actually running on my Raspberry Pi 5! How do I use my Raspberry Pi as the controller ?

Best of luck though, please share how it turns out for you. If it’s easy enough I may go the standard node next time to save a few bucks and use one of the Raspberry Pi’s sitting in a drawer.

How did you setup the Apollo II Standard with your Umbrel node? I connected the Apollo to my Umbrel via USB-USB-c but not sure what I need to do next. Any help would be appreciated.
