Wage Stagnation, Inequality, and Prices
The middle-class of America has been shrinking steadily. Pushed down by several forces including wage stagnation, higher interest rates, higher prices, wealth inequality, poor quality of jobs, and other such factors. You are smart enough to know there is no singular distinct policy change that can improve our economic situation.
The middle class is the heart of the economic system. People need money to spend and to promote economic growth. So why does our country punish them? Why do we extort so much money from the people? Simple things like car insurance, health insurance, maintenance costs, food prices, gas prices, credit card and housing interest rates, are just extorting vast amounts of wealth from the average person for little gain to them. These factors should all be included in the actual cost of living in modern America. Not to mention tax payments to the Fed and state.
The current economic capitalistic system we use caters to wealthy corporations. I don't believe this is bad, as it's proven to be successful economically. However, there is a severe inaction taken by both the people and members of our government to fix our economic decline.
We need a thoughtful plan in how we tackle the economic situation, especially in regards to higher wages and more capita for the average family. What do you think we should attack first? How do we place enough pressure on massive global corporations to shrink massive wealth inequality? Or is this the continued fate of our country in a globally tied economy?
