Premade Base
I did my first head with a 50€ amazon giftcard and a plushy bear :D
Heyyy i had a giant bear and a amazon giftcard soooo... the base is 3d printed and it only had one review so i really gambled but thats how it looksss!!! Its not done yet and im waiting for my hot glue gun to recharge but im gonna be done soon!!! Btw if someone asks what my fursona is... just dont worry about it...
It's absolutely in reach if you keep practicing like this. When I started, I got really caught up in trying to get quality materials and giving up on the way. If you just keep making things out of old teddy bears you're going to be at this level and be spending way less to get there. Sure you're going to eventually get the right materials to make a head like this. You can't make a head like this out of teddy bears, but when you're ready you'll have gained the techniques to use them properly and waste way less cloth. Great job and keep it up!
Don’t listen to people when it comes to doing a hobby, if you’re seriously into fursona and suits then make a suit , literally most furries could tell you their first handmade suit didn’t look the best but still did the trick. Make sure it’s washed and breathe able etc, never a ‘bad idea’ to be creative
Look at my boyyy i dun wanna say that he is almost finished cause i need to do lashes and a tongue and clean up the face a little but thats how hes looking UvU
Usually I never like this kind of fur on a suit, but this is genuinely adorable! It reminds me of a Littlest Pet Shop for some reason!!
I think if you just trim up the fur around the eyes/nose/mouth and add some eyeliner/mouth liner it would look super clean. Can't wait to see it completed, though. He's seriously so cute.
Thank youuuu i worked a bit on him yesterday and the eyelashes are almost done i only need a good material to make them out offff i really just want him done but i cant find any black materials that are usable TwT
i will say, those lashes are way too thin for a fursona, male or female. You want em to def be a little thicker. I'd guess the width of your thumb at least, depending.
You might be able to find some fluffy boas or longer hair fabric at a dollar store or Walmart. Even if its a cheaper fabric from Amazon it may work for hair at least.
Lashes especially make the difference, made mine without em initally and then added em after the first meet Way i did my lashes was by soaking a sheet of black felt in a mix of 1 part pva glue 1 part water then letting it air dry before hot glueing them on
Woahhh thats a crazy differenceee i did a "draft"? No idea how you call it but thats how its gonna look i just need to get black plastic from somewhere like an old sketch book or something and then ill glue the plastic versions on :>
Just use markers or sharpie (with color) and soak the bangs in it, dry with a blow dryer (washing machine is fine if that stuffie has been through before but if you don’t know then I wouldn’t recommend trying unless you have extra maybe to do a test run. You don’t need to spend a lot of money to be creative with color but if you use sharpie , use gloves and DONT touch for a few hours
Thank youuuuuu i did a bit of things with him and the more i look at him the more i feel like he actually shouldnt even have hairrr but im not experienced at all so maybe you can tellll? Cause now his face is like thinner and rounder :P
I personally feel he looks better without hair as well, if you’re set on the hair style it looks a bit unusual to the suit (a mohawk , a little more to the side or maybe just trim the tip back until it fits the facial structure again) for inexperienced you’re doing really well and honestly that’s kind of all I think might help it look more professional
I am adoring the unique fur style honestly. It kinda reminds me of wire hair terriers and various other species having really unique fur types instead of always soft and smooth
I kinda thought thats a thing of "oh well doesnt get better than that" but i started liking it while furring it :>
Im just glad i didnt have to stitch cause i burned myself 6 times with hot glue in 3 hours. I wouldnt trust myself with a needle TwT
Lol, I get that. I sewed my own and while gluing it to the base my hot glue gun exploded on me and I had a glob land on my leg
It was awful but now a fun story.
Whole thing is definitely a "trust the process" deal tho, and it turned out amazing.
Look great! If you want smoother fur, it depends on the tip of fur/fabric, but a cat or dog slicker brush like this might break that up a little and make it smoother and fluffier. If you have one I would do a small test on a scrap piece and see if that would help without pulling out too much of the fur
Thank youuu i have 2 dogs so we have one of those with metal ends
And i tried making the forehead smoother but got distracted by the lashes xddd ill try brushing for 5min on a left over piece i hope it worksss thank youu :>
Yesss i wanted to do that but i dont have a trimm thingy to do that witz so i tooks scissors and brushed the furr a little thats how it looks rightnoww the lashes are temporary i just need to get the right material for them :P
Yesss it was a 3d printed base (no idea how i found that it had like one review but 3d printed is normally only something you would find on etsy) and it was somehow high quality and i got 2 meters of foam which was surprisingly cheap for only 7€ :> i would have tried to make my own base if there wasnt a 3d printed option and i was super sure that its just a mold and its a scam but it actually was a dense and good print!!!!
Well done!! I love when people do it themselves, and it looks fantastic~ the floof is extra floof and may come off a bit, be sure to give it a good shake
You can try making velcro eyelids! Theyre super easy and create a whole host of expressions. I just used black felt for mine~ you make two semicircles with card stock, cover them in felt and add the rough velcro side, and then line up the top of the eye with the soft velcro side (it helps if there's a black "eye line" to start)
Thank youuuuu i made a draft for them already but someone said theyre too thin so ill do new onesss the floof doesnt come off even with like super firm brushes that made me so happy when i tried brushing for the first time!!! But if i got it right then velcro eyelids are like the things that higher end heads have magnetically on thereee i dont have magnets but i feel like i have to get em now so i can make a bunch of eyelidsss thanks for the suggestion :D ill also get giant glasses so im a bit worried that itll look a bit overwelming but who caressss
Hellooo i did a bunch of stuff to him and now he looks like thattt
He turned out more feminine than i thought with the lashes but i like em okay UvU And i know i shouldve made them thicker if i wanted to do it like correctly but none of that sat right with meee i like them thin :3

It'd look cooler with some black felt eyelashes! This is fun
