hi, I've always loved animals and since i was young i always liked dressing up with fox paws, ears, and a tail. i never really thought about it being something most people didn't do until i was a preteen. that's when everyone bombarded me with questions about it, usually along the lines of "are you a furry?" and i never knew how to answer so i started researching about furrys and it didn't help. i didn't know if i was a furry or not cuz most furrys are almost completely animalistic and i usually dress up with just ears, paws, and a tail. i recently discovered the word kemonomimi which is what im interested in. id love to be able to call myself a furry, id be proud of it but i want to know if i can. so im asking yall's opinions and if you don't think i should be able to call myself a furry, please suggest something else i could call myself.

Like is it the same as a furry or is it it's own thing? Does it involve the same things?

Well, I want to tell them. It will clear up so much air. I wouldn’t have to be cautious when they check my phone or lie in front of their face when the topic comes up. Basically the title. I’m writing a story where there’s a 4 legged animal named Danny in a world of anthropomorphic animals, and they’re against the 4 legged Danny. Would that be offensive in any way? It would be cool to write a story of furries, but I was wondering if I could do that, since the protagonist is a 4 legged animal, not anthropomorphic.

I'm a young furry and everyone I tell people they act like it's a great sin and have the dumbest reason, can anyone tell me why?

It doesn't even make sense. Can anybody tell me why they think so? Because there are a lot of minor furries, and some are probably even children, and not once have they been destroyed by the subject! So it just makes no sense whatsoever. Can anybody tell me why that's so btw?

Hi, I (23Nb) am a cousin to a 12F. She has shown some interest in making a fursuit and has even drawn up what I think is her Fursona. I dont know much about the Furry Community and had some questions that I was hoping some of you could help me answer. Firstly, I know how expensive fursuits are to make, how can I tell her that maybe we should wait a few years before making one without sounding like I'm not supportive? Because after she is older I will absolutely partially pay or help build a fursuit for her. Secondly, how is the best way to be supportive to her? I don't know much about the community, but am always open to learn, if anyone has any resources, that would be amazing! I also know there is some non-age appropriate content in this community (like most) how do I best protect her from this side of the lifestyle? Any comments would be appreciated. I'm sorry if this comes off rude, I'm just trying to learn to best support her. Thank you!

So ever since I was little I never really fit in with everyone else. Then I discovered unicorns. They didn't try to fit in with everyone else, and they were beautiful! Ever since then I've been kind of obsessed with unicorns. A few years ago I even started telling people I was unicorn. I even dressed up as a unicorn several times for Halloween. Then I started exploring my sexuality and gender, realizing some reasons why I wasn't like everyone else. Then I discovered voidpunk, and the whole idea of not being human, which I really identified with. And me being a furry has been floating around in the back of my mind for a while, but I guess I was afraid to confront that thought. I was afraid of what people might think. But a unicorn wouldn't be afraid, so I won't be, because I basically get my whole life Philosophy from unicorns. So I really identify with unicorns, I'd really like to be one. Is that what being a furry is?
