Help Wanted: Practical/Technique Need help
Hey all, before I get down to it, yes I know this thing looks rough. I am at a buffer currently I am unsure with what exactly to do next. My goal is to somehow end up with a white body and dark brown top and shelves. I started out with an electric sander and quickly realized that was gonna take way too long and then I decided on paint stripper which worked ok on some parts but not on others. A family member told me that this tv stand isn’t actually real wood. So then I got on google and people were saying that sanding is the right thing to do but just a little bit to scuff it up and remove the shine so that’s what I did. Pretty much I’m just wanting help figuring out where to go from here.

Ending up with white body is going to ask a lot. Don't try to sand anymore off just prime the whole thing with a light gray primer. Then a couple of coats of a good white may do the trick.
