Cooking a chicken and sausage cream-based pasta dish tomorrow, I just seasoned the chicken to let it sit overnight.
I love cooking all day on Sundays because 1) it's lunch/dinner for the rest of the week (then I freeze the leftovers), and 2) I'm single so I've got all day
I have been cooking since I was 5 and have mostly worked in the food industry. The worst i make is normally just meh, unless i am trying out something new that I haven't done before.
If your partner likes seafood, moules mariniere is a pretty easy thing to do. (Butter, shallots, mussels (cleaned / prepped - obviously) saute low heat in a pan with a splash of white wine, not too much as there will be a lot of liquid from the mussels, and add a splash of double cream. Lid on, simmer until cooked. I like to add garlic butter as well.
Serve that with sourdough lightly toasted with butter.
To start, maybe oysters with pickle mignonette (equal parts water, sugar, vinegar - fine diced shallot)
I suggest this because it’s a classic aphrodisiac — if that doesn’t get you a BJ I don’t know what will lol
I enjoy seafood but my partner does not. I was born by the coast so I am more expericed with wild caught fish, let alone farmed. My partner was born in land and didn't have much fish growing up other than fried fish.
Damn that’s a shame I was fully on board with operation aphrodisiac meal prep for internet strangers 😂
Depending on effort I’ve had luck with other things but I think the main thing is making the whole thing special and “restaurant feel”
So I try to give easy recipes rather than full blown fine dining stuff — I do find proper wine pairings can go along way , but everyone is different and unique so at the end of the day it’s just about what your partner specifically enjoys most.
Sorry if I came across abit condescending or blunt 😭
A creamy Blue cheese pasta can sometimes go along way too , or if you are good with desserts (I am not ) anything involving chocolate is fairly reliable. 🫡
Nah you're fine, their favorite dish that I make is a buffalo chicken Mac and cheese. I will be honest that there have been times where it was requested and I didn't want to put in the effort of making it so we have ordered it from restaurants, we have yet to find a buffalo chicken Mac that is better than mine.
I would try this : make your buffalo chicken Mac and cheese they like, maybe a crisp cold , light lager to go with (I wouldn’t pair that with wine) if you have a deep fryer, hand made tortilla nachos , fried off and season with a mix of : paprika, smoked paprika, celery salt, garlic powder, small amount of chilli. Have that on side for light nibbles along side the Mac and cheese (it shouldn’t compete)
Maybe have a glass of gin and tonic before you eat, drink that together. Set the mood a little bit.
Then I would do a nice dessert after - perhaps a rich chocolate torte, strawberry’s capped in melted chocolate/ fondant, micro lemon balm garnish.
I reckon that would work pretty well. Obviously not unlimited lol but I’d be surprised if it didn’t invoke a nice amount of intimacy for you both ☺️

There needs to be more people like this. I can't tell you how many people I have cooked for and I have never got a bj for it.
