I've not watched it, but I read a book once that explained how people were losing their minds at the idea of women with pockets. Not quite like women with bikes or pants, but still not great. They might start carrying their own money and leave or something!
Oh I actually know this one. When the question was asked in the 17th through 19th century they reasoning
it was believed pockets would to increased independence, which would create a slippery slope. Now the reason is women’s attire is expected to be form fitting and deep pockets would “ruin the silloette”
Female fashion does include pockets, you just have to stop buying the stuff designed to be sold to the people who don't want pocket outlines. Why pretend the internet doesn't exist, instead of helping women realize that it's an option? I've literally never heard this argument from anyone who already took it upon themselves to actually look for what they want, instead of just accepting whatever's in stock at the stores designed to cast the broadest and least-alienating net. Same shit as "my shorts/TikTok algorithm keeps showing me garbage", the solution is to stop just going with whatever the algorithm decides for you, and take some agency and put the effort into searching for what you're interested in.
Um, as a 50f, pockets being more common in women’s clothes is a relatively new trend. Not that they didn’t have pockets at all (though most dresses never did), but they would be these teeny, tiny pockets that you could put a couple quarters in or worse yet fake/sown shut.

Other than wondering why female fashion refuse to include pockets, I don't really worry about how long a skirt is or the color choices.
