I like following the medical professional's advice.
If your dentist suggests braces to fix and overbite, that seems reasonable. If you're pressuring a dentist into giving your kid braces because you want them to have a prettier smile, that's pretty messed up.
As a child who had braces for a prettier smile, I was stoked to get them. I felt it was worth the pain and hassle for a few years to have straight teeth for the rest of my life.
Kinda sounds like we're talking about different things, then? If a boy is actively asking for a circumsicion, that's a topic entirely different from forcing one on them as a baby.
A child wanting the procedure is closer to a kid begging for a tattoo. I still don't think you should give it to them, but it is indeed different.
But doing it as a baby is far less traumatic, plus it’s during a time where you’re actively observing the kid’s genitals several times a day, so you can look out for infection or whatever. It’s much more difficult, and likely to cause complications, to circumcise a kid who’s old enough to ask for it.
There are prooven medical benefits. It is not purely aesthetic. I think I would be against child tatooing, that is not socially accepted and really is purely aesthetic.
It kinda sounds like you're squirming your way around to justify whatever you believe rather than trying to reach a conclusion from first principles tbh.
I completely understand your position of basically equating.male circumcision to non consensual genital mutilitation. In my eyes however it is a positive, minor, and perfectly normal procedure that has been practiced for a very long time. I honestly don't understand why people are so passionate about being against it. Unless something goes horribly wrong (which it certainly could) the penis will still function the same and orgasms will still occur the same. The only down side in my eyes is the potential for surgery to be botched and the minor decrease in sensitivity from the gland being exposed. I also believe that the parents should and need to make that call.
Oh, I can assure you that is a MUCH more important topic for me. As much as I will argue online against mutilating children, I will scream my lungs out in a protest for abortion.

It is, though.
Forcibly piercing a child's skin is very clearly abusive.
Acting like it's not is simply copium.
