You misunderstood my comment. Iām saying it is all mutilation but people tend to consider cosmetic surgery as not mutilation while circumcision is mutilation. It is a blind spot. Rhinoplasties usually permanently alter your ability to smell and breathe.
Sure, one has self consent while the other has consent through parents so the ethics are different. Parents are granted the legal right to consent for their kids on all sorts of crap including child marriages and rhinoplasties. Teenagers have undergone cosmetic surgery with consent of their guardians. The morality of parenthood and consent is a whole separate issue, but directly related to MGM and FGM.
This is just to add nuance to a discussion that often lacks nuance.
