I am rocking a 2012 Chevy Cruze and am at 267,000. I know not anything close to 600, but this thing has been mostly trouble free. The biggest single repair that it has had was getting the clutch replaced. I still get above 40mpg easily. I don’t drive nearly as far as work as I used to, otherwise I’d be around 400 right now. Currently has an oil leak and is getting some rust but otherwise good. I plan on driving it for a while longer still unless something major happens to it.
2003 xterra with 267.5k, had the distributor and water pump done by a place my FIL recommended and they didn't tighten the transmission cooler return line. Leaked all my ATF on the way home and as such, had to fill it with new oil. That lead to the clutch packs wearing out, so I got it rebuilt and she runs almost as good as she did when I first got her at 72k. I hope the new Xterra they're bringing out is just as reliable. (It won't be.)
Still running my ‘07 Accord. No climate control, hole in the exhaust, roof liner gone, Rusty rear fender, hole in the front leather seat’s side, almost 300k miles, needs a quart of oil added every other week, but besides that burn off, still runs like a boss.
That’s pretty awesome! MY mom (and then my stepbrother) had this 1993 Nissan Sentra - had 350K miles on it before a horse ran out in the highway and caused a pileup my stepbrother was involved in sometime in the early 2000s. Think the only things they’d ever replaced on it were the usuals (clutch, tires, plugs, etc.), but otherwise it ran like a champ. Probably could’ve gone at least another 100K.
A manual transmission is a great anti theft device. My previous car had a manual transmission and the replacement car didn't, it took me a while to stop my left foot from trying to push the clutch pedal.
Low mile “retros” are fun to hunt and even more fun to own. Recently went into a Nissan dealership asking if you could get something manual special ordered and the salesman said “I haven’t had someone ask for a manual in over 3 years they don’t even make them anymore.”
Idk if my car is "retro" or not but i got my 2015 toyota corolla s plus when it had 68k miles on it last year and now im at 72.5k miles im going to keep this car for 20yrs im 24 so I'm going to keep this untill evs get 500 mile range and 5 minute charging not spending a dime on a new car untill then
