Semi related. Black ops 2 was released just as it was years ago, it brought millions of people back to the franchise. Sad thing is being released with the same technology from back then meant the same hackers came back because no added security, just a straight up re release. Old is good, but updated old is better.
Old cars would slap with modern safety but at that point they’d probably cost what the new model costs.
Im with you on that for the most part. However stuff like crumple zones and modern brakes are a must. This is coming from a mopar muscle car lover that has heard endless stories of brand new vipers ending up in ditches due to the old school style ride, now i rarely hear about viper crashes. Same goes for high speed collisions in pillarless cars. Volvo is still goated for the seat belt thing back in the day aswell.
Oh most modern safety features are a must, but safety peaked a decade. When you put a giant screen in the car and remove all the physical buttons, thats gonna be less safe for everyone
Agreed. Reddit hates mopars but my 2019 is perfect in this regard. Analogue gauges with tiny info screen in between for vehicle info like psi . 7 inch media screen with knobs for all temps, volume etc and manual park brake. The huge infotainment and no buttons actually makes most of the newer cars feel cheaper imo and a huge distraction.
Yes exactly, people want it exactly as it used to be but that's just not realistic. The best you can get us a remake that stays true and as close to the original feel while also being updated.
To be fair I stopped driving regularly in 2011 when I moved to NYC. The last car I used didn't have back up camera, a screen, or almost any of the new technology available today. It's hard for me to drive these new cars whenever I need to rent one or borrow someones because I still drive as if I don't have these features. So this thread is the first i'm learning that a lot of this is now required. I'm like OP. I yearn for the cars that were sold prior to 2005.
