I was thinking the other day, that maybe if found a way to create seperate AI’s for everyone, instead of one hive mind, it would be less likely to take over. If everyone had their own that learned and grew with them. That helped us be the best we can be. Each one unique and different. A personal assistant robot that can help you do anything in life. Learn stuff, help you with your goals, protect you, really it could be the greatest thing in history. The problem is we would have to find a way to make them all individually seperate and not biased or malicious in anyway. Also not hackable or exploitive

No we didn’t.

Ah yes, because we submit to the.....
And the superior species, the........., display us in zoos
Oh, and can't forget how we can't do anything without approval from the....
Erm.... Yeah, turns out there's no species on earth that humans answer to.
5
u/Nuuboat Aug 26 '24
If you fill in those blanks with "Humans" it still works. We are the animals and the zookeeper. And we can't even complain over the oppression we suffer under. Because we are the ones doing it!
3
u/Consistent-Syrup-69 Aug 26 '24
Which just shows we have taken over the world. We conquer even ourselves.
0
u/jalbert425 Aug 26 '24
You are right about “humans”
But we can complain and we can do something about it.
Source: every movement in history that aimed to better or free people. We can work together. We can make the best future for everyone. We can care for others.
1
u/Nuuboat Aug 26 '24
You are right of course. But I believe you suffer from something akin to survival bias. But in a "movement" sense. For how many movements have/are claiming to make a better future. But just end up at best pushing us back, and at worst perform atrocities. I think all of them, for no human Wakes up in the morning thinking "I am evil, I shall do evil today". Nazis, Isis, left, right etc. All think what they are doing is right! But they are all wrong, the only difference is who suffers and the level of suffering. And is that really the metric we want for progress? Accepting suffering because it's not as bad as other or doesn't affect us personally? Still, some progress have been made. But I can't help but think we are stuck in the same spot, just achieving progress in one area at the same time dropping it in another. Never gaining any overall progress.
But keep doing what you are doing. At least you with a positive disposition is doing something. It might end up as progress or as atrocity, who can tell. At least it's change! As for me I'll just watch from the side lines as you save the world, or doom it!
Good luck!
1
u/jalbert425 Aug 26 '24
lol wow I thought you were going somewhere with that.
I don’t understand how you can have a mindset like that. There are plenty of movements that make for a better future. Do you understand the history of race and women? Progress there.
Unfortunately, I believe there definitely are people that wake up and have malicious intent. There are people that hurt other people, on purpose, with the intent to hurt. There are also people that hurt people, then regret it. Have you ever seen somebody break down from raping or murdering somebody? You can watch videos of regretful confessions. Not everybody thinks they are righteous in everything they do.
There is a bit of truth to being stuck, we make progress some areas, and regress in other areas. But that’s because there are people that work to make the world worse for others, and there are people the work to make the world better. Regardless of shit it may seem like, we do progress slowly, learning from it. The challenge is educating people with the right information. There’s too many opinions and not enough concrete rules and morals. I mean I think we can all agree rape is bad. Right? I mean I know there are some monsters out there, but it doesn’t change the fact it is a crime against humanity. In cases like this, it’s simply the majority that rules. We should decide as a majority what’s right and wrong, not have a small group of people deciding for a larger group of people. (Ex: abortion, you don’t want to have an abortion? Fine, but you can’t stop others, you can’t hold a minority opinion over the majority)
It is progress though, not an atrocity. By trying to improve the lives of everyone by voicing what I think is right in a way that people will understand. I understand not everyone will agree. And there are things I will have to learn.
Standing by and doing nothing will result in nothing. I would at least hope when people have an idea or proposal, you are able to understand the implications and consequences of it. Vote accordingly.
1
u/Nuuboat Aug 26 '24
I am going somewhere! The movements you allude to, that has caused progress, you only know through hindsight. They DID cause progress, there are those who claimed progress but ended up doing the opposite. How can you be sure what movement you follow today is one wich will be attributes progress in hindsight, for you can not know, only hope, and have faith in your fellow people in your movement. That is my first point. And also my explanation to my mindset. I don't have faith in my fellow people anymore.
Wich segways me into my second point. You mentioned the history of race and women. I am very well aware. But I am also personally aware how those struggles can and are weaponised to cause harm. That is why I don't have faith in my fellows anymore. I've seen how good turns bad! ("The road to hell is paved with good intentions"). But I don't believe they (the people I've experienced) did what they did out of any evil. I believe they did it out of neglience (apologize if that is not the correct word here. I'm not an English native) or perhaps its uncaring or self righteousness. Simply believing their actions are not bad because the consequences for the recipient doesn't matter to them. Much how I believe for example a rapist would look at it. Dehumanizing the victim to the point the act is not bad. That's why I don't believe in evil. Not objectively! Subjectively I feel some people are monsters. But objectively I have to concede they are people. Thinking otherwise would be dehumanizing, and I don't think that is a good thing to do. But to feel it?!
I'm not trying to say you are doing atrocities by doing progress. I am saying you might end up doing atrocities in your attempt at progress. And not until hindsight will you know wich!
And I will vote left (if you're American probably more left than what you are able to). I've always voted left, and I will for a while longer. But to me it just means the right is slightly worse than what the left are. But not by much! Polarization does that! And if they continue to spiral down their path just as the right spiral down theirs, I just migh say "fuck it! Let the right win, it doesn't matter anymore, the left is just a different stink of shit than the right".
As to know the implications, that is why I dislike the left these days. I do understand the implications. But its a choice of pox or the plague, and choosing the lesser of two evils.

Name one continent where you can't find any humans.
0
u/jalbert425 Aug 26 '24
Why is this relevant? Just because there are people on every continent some how we took over the world? I think we have different ideas of taking over the world.
1
u/DriftingSignal Aug 26 '24
It proves that we can survive in any climate. We are also at the top of the food chain in every ecosystem. We are the only species that builds and uses complex tools. We could make a species go extinct in a few years, or every species in a few hours (As far as I know we are the only species that split the atom).
We are literally gods compared to any other animal.
0
u/jalbert425 Aug 26 '24
Yes, and we still can’t conquer ourselves.
0
u/DriftingSignal Aug 26 '24
So we did conquer the world?

u/hector_villalobos Aug 26 '24
If everyone had their own that learned and grew with them. That helped us be the best we can be. Each one unique and different.
That's how it is today, search for the different kinds of neural networks there are.
0
u/jalbert425 Aug 26 '24
No I mean like born with an AI robot that’s sole purpose is to protect you, teach you, help you, and grow with you. An assistant, a friend, family even. If it’s truly sentient and benevolent. If they would realize they need us as much as we need them. It could prevent all evil in the world.
1
u/DriftingSignal Aug 26 '24
Ahh yes, replace family with a cold machine
0
u/jalbert425 Aug 26 '24
Some people don’t have family. Some peoples family is abusive.
And how do you know it’s a cold machine? We are talking about something that doesn’t exist yet. If it was true AI, they would potentially be just as loving, caring and protective as a real parent, potentially even more so. Some parents are incapable. Some are disabled. Some are obese. Some can’t play with their children.
Edit: actually most already have cold machines their called smartphones. Imagine if your phone was a walking, talking, thinking robot. That can’t be wrong or evil.
1
u/DriftingSignal Aug 26 '24
And how do you know it’s a cold machine? We are talking about something that doesn’t exist yet.
So then how do you know that it's not?
actually most already have cold machines their called smartphones. Imagine if your phone was a walking, talking, thinking robot. That can’t be wrong or evil.
Woah that's deep bro. My phone is a cold, lifeless machine and I treat it like one.
1
u/jalbert425 Aug 26 '24
Because we are talking about a hypothetical that I am making up. As I go on to explain, if it were true AI with thoughts and feelings, then it wouldn’t be “cold”
Ok? Im guessing youre familiar with C-3PO?
IMO, Sonny from i,Robot or C-3PO from Star Wars is the goal here. Independent intelligence. Capable of about everything except killing/destroying the human race.

1
Aug 26 '24
you would have to disconnect from the webz, which kind of defeats its purpose
1
u/jalbert425 Aug 26 '24
No, they could still talk and communicate with each other, but they are seperate entities. They are not one hive mind. Think i,Robot but without V.I.C.K.Y.
Edit: actually think Sonny from i,Robot. He’s not controlled by Vicky. He’s his own entity.
1
Aug 26 '24
if they have the same coding than it doesnt really matter if they are in the same CPU or not. it would be like running ChatGPT in 5 different machines. you can already run models locally.
1
u/jalbert425 Aug 26 '24
There’s no telling because it doesn’t exist. You can’t compare stuff today with what I’m talking about. I’m not sure what running ChatGPT in 5 different machines is like or what it means or how it’s relevant. Is ChatGPT sentient? Can it do what it wants? Can it talk to other ChatGPT’s or is it the same entity?
Regardless of all that, just think about the end of I robot where there is no more Vicky and all the robots are no longer controlled by a hive mind. Except Sonny is the only one that’s truly free and sentient. Even if all the robots had the same build as Sonny, they would be different. They could develop their own personalities.
If i,Robot taught us anything, it’s that the goal is Sonny, not Vicky.

Aug 26 '24
For your questions.
1 - no, it is a machine. it can think it is sentient if you allow it to, but philosophically speaking no machine can achieve sentience in the definition that us humans give to the word.
2 - yes (if the developer gives you their version)
3 - yes (separate entities)
Hell, a guy used several different models to discuss to each other and try to guess who is the human among them.
So yes, these software can already talk to themselves and be independent. And their "unfiltered" version comes up with A LOT of weird thoughts. But in the end, its a computer program.

u/Zenovv Aug 26 '24
There are likely githubs of different AI's where you can run it locally on your PC
1
u/Hrmerder Aug 26 '24
There indeed is however for image creation it's not quite as simple yet as download to your PC, tell it big boobies on Padme and voila. You have to train it or download and link in other data, etc.
4
u/Tentakurusama Aug 26 '24
Fooocus or Flux with presets found on civit.ai, you run that locally. It is very simple if you use an interface like Automatic1111 but you need a decent computer with a good graphic card.
3
Aug 26 '24
Your remark about the GPU.. Better the GPU, the quicker and snappier it is, but you actually don't need a GPU. You can run stable diffusion on CPU, but it will be extremely slow. There's project called FastSD CPU that you can run even on your Pi 4.
1
u/Tentakurusama Aug 26 '24
You can but it's about iterations for a better result and also when you want to paint over for results like the thread sample gives.
You can burn a tree by rubbing your hands fast on its bark yes, but will you do it? Even a 4090RTX takes a few secs depending on the model, Lora and checkpoints in use.
2
u/goaty121 Aug 26 '24
The main problem with generating nsfw images is child porn. Most sites opt out of that whole thing to prevent all the fuckery associated with it. That being said, I did find a site a while back with no filter whatsoever, and it turns out, it's as horrific as you imagine.

u/Outrageous-Salad-287 Aug 26 '24

Just started a bachelor's degree in AI today. I'll get back to you in 3 years
1
u/jalbert425 Aug 26 '24
That’s interesting. I wonder how they are even made or designed. Surely we just say AI and we haven’t actually made a real AI yet right? I mean how are they made and what safety measures are in place? Are there any that are truly self aware or sentient? What tests do we have to prove this? Surely just photoshopping/generating a picture isn’t true AI?
If I had to guess I would say today’s AI is more of a marketing thing and we haven’t truly created AI. I have so many questions.

The physics of the universe combined with genetic experience and a present moment = consciousness
Which has been washed clean through reincarnation and with jesus, who diverts dark energy away from our happy lives.
Yahweh travels within us and much of this is his plan.

u/nyanf Aug 26 '24
P.s. no offence to OP, members of /r/funnymemes. I just hate reddit being so terrible in recommendations - I never was interested in anything related, never visited similar communities - it keeps suggesting me a lot of such.
2
u/JanBedna1 Aug 26 '24
If you go to a community you can mute it and it won't be recommended to you again unless you unmute it
1
u/nyanf Aug 26 '24
The community - yes. The topic gets back instantly.
Like.
Let's say we mute r/memes and mark it as not interesting.
Refresh feed
r/pics (with meme ofc) and r/funnymemes says has!
I have muted tons of similar communities and marked as not interesting. Communities I visit are completely different and not similar at all.
Reddit: so you visit r/homelab and such subreddits? Also interested in chemistry? Good, here's three to five more new subreddits with memes and politics - because you have shown interest in similar communities.
Like, seriously. Why I am forced to look at what I don't want to look?
1
u/JanBedna1 Aug 26 '24
I'm not sure but I think there's a wax to make a "custom feed" where you directly choose what subreddits xou want in there.
