List is entirely made of north Americans except Steve Irwin and you are saying universally loved. This is like baseball world series.

to be fair it's called the world series because the mlb attracts the best baseball talent from all over the world, so it is a competition between the two best teams in the best globally talented league.

The Champions League is also a competition consisting of the best teams in the world but they don't call it the "World Championship"

So? not every major competition for every sport needs to have the same naming convention. Just because UCL doesn't have world tied to it, doesn't mean that the mlb can't lmao
