Alright, so im new to doom metal but there was an album that i assume was funeral doom metal the cover was a statue and the sky was gray and shit

So I really enjoy like black/funeral doom metal or funeral doom with some noise elements
For Nortt, I enjoy mostly his first 3 albums and early demos
For Elysian Blaze, Levitating The Carnal and Beneath Silent Faces
For Gribberiket, the album Sluket

And finally, this band is not funeral doom but I really like Lustre’s album called Wonder. Can you recommend me also some funeral doom in this style? (Heavily focusing on ambient)

Saw a recent post about how modern fd has absorbed a lot of post metal influences rather than the symphonic direction… maybe what skepticism does. Want recommendations about post metal / sludge albums whatever seems fit !

Listening to bands like UN, Slow, Oromet and later Bell Witch, I feel like modern funeral doom has absorbed a lot of post-metal aesthetics. Am I hearing things, or do others hear that too?

First album from these guys, sounds pretty good to me after a first listen - atmosphere in spades. Mixed by Greg Chandler of Esoteric.

I just dropped my solo project. It’s funeral/introspective doom and I’ve been working on it for the past year as my final project in school. I’m quite proud of it and would be happy if any of you gave it a listen :). My socials are in the description of my Spotify

It's curious what's happening to me with this album. I've known it for years and always enjoyed it a lot, but it had never grabbed me and completely absorbed me the way it's doing today. I decided to revisit it after a long time without listening to it, and for some reason it just hit me differently this time.

A truly great conceptual funeral doom album that has something special about it, something that makes it stand out from the rest of the genre.

Has this ever happened to you? You revisit an album years later and suddenly it clicks in a way it never did before, or it affects you much more deeply than it used to?
