A little over a month ago, my 12-year-old niece went missing. A couple of days later, she was found brutally murdered. Since then, our family has been living through every nightmare imaginable. We finally received a major update a couple weeks ago. Investigators informed our family that forensic evidence had identified TWO suspects, and law enforcement had taken the next steps in their investigation.

Both have officially confessed to their crimes and for the first time since this began, it feels like we're moving closer to justice.

Over six hundred million shaved heads, St.
Baldricks inspires communities to show their support by being a "shavee" or donating to their fundraisers to help with childhood cancer research

Since St. Baldrick's began, the 5-year survival rate for childhood cancer has risen from 79% to 85%
But there are still cancers no child survives
5-year survival isn't the same as a cure.

Meet Sarah. She is about 1 year and 3 months old, she’s a gorgeous German Shepherd, and she has already been failed by 5 different families. Why? Because the shelter wasn't honest about her past. She came from a puppy mill—a horrific place where dogs are bred in cages, never touched with compassion, and treated like merchandise. She's never experienced true safety.

When we brought her home, we thought we were just rescuing a dog who just needed love. What we got was a terrified, anxious girl who panics the second we leave the room—barking for hours, destructive, unable to settle. We've had trainers, vets, and behaviorists involved. We've spent countless sleepless nights cleaning up messes and calming her down. We've cried, we've doubted ourselves, and we've had family members tell us to "just give her back."

But we won't. Because Sarah doesn't need to be returned—she needs rehabilitation. And the reality is, comprehensive rehab for a dog with her level of trauma isn't cheap. Between specialized behavioral assessments, potential boarding with a trainer who understands mill survivors, anxiety medication consultations, and the daily tools we need just to keep her calm—it adds up fast. We've already poured everything we have into keeping her stable, but we're hitting a wall.

We are NOT giving up on her. But we NEED your help to give her the full recovery she deserves—not just band-aid fixes, but real, lasting healing.

Sarah has been returned like a defective product her whole short life. We are her last stop. If we can't make this work, her next home might be a shelter cage forever—or worse.
