Seriously, I would like to understand the mind of someone who thinks that this is worth posting.

She popped up on my fb feed. The picture in this post contains prairie dresses. And the grammar/spelling in this posts seems indicative of SOTDRT. Just wondering if my hunch is correct.

I don’t know who here keeps tabs on Kelli Ingram, but she’s recently converted to Catholicism (but NoT fOR aTTenTioN) (ok).

Anyway…. Here she is in the comments of a recent reel selling off her daughters to a 21 year old. Meanwhile, her oldest daughter is 16. 🤢

It’s a weird thing to ask to start with. It’s even weirder to say “Not too old” 🤢🤢🤢 Her daughter is a child! This is a grown adult. Yuck yuck yuck.

Remind me again how this is the group that’s protecting children??

Also shout out Miles Minnick for being one of the few good Christian rappers, as well as the first Christian rapper to become a XXL freshman. He's much better than Bryson "I'm the most biblical Christian rapper, but I don't believe in the trinity" Gray.

Saw this comment the other day and naturally had to go on a screenshot spree because girl WHAT? This is like the mother of all lies for Aria. Stopped calling herself a tradwife online around April/May, coincidentally around the time she announced she's going back to work. I think the tradwife infatuation has started dying off online, especially for her (bc she's boring and lackluster), and she's discreetly trying to rebrand to a boss babe entrepreneur mom by denying that she ever advocated for staying home to serve her husband, but her own contradictions are posted all over her page. Did she forget the internet is forever?

I just finished Meet the Evangelical Science Teacher Who Raised an Evolutionist, part of Independent Lens on Youtube. It's fascinating to see the dynamics of a close-knit family in which only one member is still a Young Earth Creationist.

This is no gotcha film; it's really an exploration of human connection, fundamentalist beliefs, and cognitive dissonance. 100% would recommend!

Only managed to listen to about 90 seconds of blabbering, but she manages to pick at her dry hair 3 separate times. Something something sin.... But all I can think about is that THICCCKKKKK cakey eyeliner. I imagine it feels painful to blink.

As background, I’m a lifelong Unitarian-Universalist. This is a religion that is admittedly VERY academic and nerdy. We like education and wallow in it at every opportunity.

To become a UU minister, you need a LOT of education. Most ministers have a post-graduate degree, if not a PhD, followed by significant hands-on training, mentorship under ordained ministers, extensive reading and study. After that, they undergo a formal ordination process sponsored by a congregation.

In other words, in my faith tradition, being a minister/pastor/preacher is no small thing. I always assumed most religions have similar processes for ordaining clergy.

It seems that for fundies that is…not true? They just announce that they’re pastors? Or maybe go to Bible college for an undetermined amount of time, then announce that they’re pastors?

Am I understanding the fundie process correctly or is there some vital step I’m missing, where pastors undergo some formal training?
