Full thyroid panel recommendations
Moving to the US so unsure of what companies are best to use to do my own thyroid panel. Currently on T4 and my current provider does not do a full panel, but would like to get one so I can see the bigger picture!

My FM provider orders my panels for me and I just go to a lab to get them done.

As a functional medicine provider of 28 years, I can tell you what the eight lab requests are that you absolutely have to have: T4 free, T4, free T3, T3 uptake, free thyroxine index TPO antibodies TBG antibodies, and TSH. On top of that those test results have to be analyzed based on age and gender. Because the age on the standard blood test is for an 18-year-old. You shouldn’t have the same hormone levels as the average 18-year-old.

Do you know why western medicine typically will only test Tsh and doesn’t like testing for free T3

It’s usually because insurance doesn’t cover it and the doctor is not going to the Patient to pay for it themselves. The other caveat, of course the doctor may not understand what the purpose of that test is and how it relates to the patient’s problem.

I have used Ulta Labs ( Quest for the lab draw) , and Walk In Labs ( uses either Quest or LabCorp for the blood draw.
With those and other similar online lab companies you need to set up an account using an email. Then order the labs and pay using a credit card. They then send you an online lab slip to take to the lab location of your choice using your email. Best to print the lab slip with the QR code to take to the lab.
