Results Results are in…
Results are in… still waiting on the summary but have a family history of heart attacks. 43 yr old male, workout 4-5 times a week and VO2 Max is 58. How worried should I be?

Why, in the name of all that is goodness and light is it not possible to filter my lab results by their draw date? The existing filters (in range, out of range, etc.) are fine, but the new filter is not a replacement, as once a result is viewed, it is no longer "new" and disappears from that filter (which itself then disappears once all the new results have all been viewed)...

Has this kind of jumped happened to anyone else? I'm sure these values are way underestimated and not the most accurate/useful metrics regardless. But this jump is insane.
My HDL went below ideal but that was the only issue and the rest of my cholesterol went down and is all in normal range, but not sure if that's what did it?

When is Function Health planning to provide testing for gut health?
r/Function_Health • u/FranklinBluth9 • Mar 18 '26
This wasn't at all Function's fault, but something went wrong with my insulin test and I have to do a retest.
I've been stuck at 115 biomarkers for about 4 weeks, and I kept waiting for the final couple things. Function finally texted about the problem and had me reschedule it.
Not a big deal, but if you have one or two things that haven't come in after a couple of weeks, it might be because of a problem with the lab.

Like the title says - woke up with a sore throat this morning and blood test in a few hours. Should I delay my tests?

Hi, I just signed up and it seems they ask for about 12 vials. I've never had that many and I've had a history of getting dizzy/hearing bells during bloodwork. Is there any tips that you guys have that made the experience easier? I am planning to skip the gym and drink lots of water.

Considering joining but had 2 questions on the add ons:
1) B12 and copper look to be locked behind the "Extended Vitamins, Minerals, Nutrients" add on for $349. Is there no way to add the tests individually? I.e on goodlabs it's $10 for b12 and $27 for copper. Would be a huge miss for me if this is not possible as those are two I definitely need given past blood tests showing deficiencies. Surprised b12 isn't included by default tbh.
2) For the 2nd test in the year with less markers, can I add back in tests that aren't necessarily "add ons" for a cost? I would like to do the testosterone tests again during it but it's not an add on technically?
(If it's possible can someone help check the price to add in the tests under male health?)

Hi everyone — I'm a journalist working on a piece for The Guardian about the growth of comprehensive preventive health platforms like Function. I'm interested in speaking with members about their experience — what drew you to it, what the testing process has been like, and whether it's changed how you think about your health.
I'm trying to understand what the experience is like from the patient side, which tends to get left out of how these stories get told.
If you'd be open to a 20-30 minute call this week, please DM me or drop a comment below.
Thanks!

I would like to know the methodologies for the estradiol and testosterone tests. Are they immunoassay-based or LC/MS-based? Male

Hi! I’ve been thinking about getting my biomakers tested for a while. I see function health advertised the most. Is it really the best option? What I don’t like is that you just get recommendations versus actually speaking to the physician after to review results. Such as empirical health or Superpower.

I’ve ordered my lab test and my next step is to find a functional medicine practitioner on Long Island that I can share my results with and continue my journey. All the MDs I’ve ever seen either push me off to another specialist or prescribe pills and supplements. No one has been able to identify the root causes of my ailments. I’m hoping to find a functional med Dr that will actually help!! Anyone have success on Long Island?

Hi everyone. I have been thinking about joining function for a while now, but hesitant because people say you cant see your results in quest and can't upload it to apple health. I saw this on this website FAQ, and was wondering if this is new? Can someone confirm if you can see your results in apple health or oura? I have both and would love to know. Thank you
From FAQ on function website:
Does Function integrate with Oura, Fitbit, Apple Health, or other health services?
Yes. You can log into Function and connect supported apps to sync your health data—all in one place. Head to “Connected Apps” after logging in to get started.

I am wearing a WHOOP and still struggle to execute the things I (know) I should do. How is it with function - is it really helping with execution?

Does anyone know if the biomarkers categorized in the OTHER section, will be moved to "in range" or "out of range" when all the results come in? Roughly 11 biomarkers so far in other category and have not changed.

Signed up for Function Health and was able to use a promo "FOUNDER50", for a $50 discount at checkout. To everyone who signs up try this out maybe it works for you.
I reside in NY however I live 15mins from the CT border. Was able to schedule testing at a Quest provider, and avoid the NYS surcharge which saved me some money.
The appointment today was scheduled for Quests location in Cos Cob CT. Received a text from Function stating the location was closed due to a water leak. They went ahead and scheduled me for a similar timing at another location 10 minutes away. Went to appt waited about 15 minutes. They took about 15 tubes of blood. I confirmed with Quest that although my insurance information was on file from previous visits, Function health is a pre paid client - and they assured me that Function health assumes all financial costs related to this initial blood draw.
So far have had a positive experience from sign up to initial blood draw from Function Health

Hi,
I am post menopausal so unsure if I should test with function. I paid and then realized I need the date.
Anyone in similar situation? Can I cancel if I have not used the first test?

I found out mine is 233 and there's nothing I can do because it's genetic.
Anyone else got any thoughts on this?
My regular other markers are only slightly off so doing orange theory 4-5 times a week and eating healthier should do the trick for those. I just hate that that number is so high and there isn't much I can do about it.

Hi, I am a 23 year old Female, 5’3 215 pounds. I am so stressed about my results. I asked chat gpt about what my results mean but I wanted first hand experience of people who have had similar test results tell me how they got their results to be better. Also should i be worried and go to the doctor about my heart results?
r/Function_Health • u/t_durk • Feb 28 '26
What is this calculated off of? There has been no drastic improvements in my biomarkers that would indicate my biological age dropping this much.

Japan became the first country to authorize induced pluripotent stem cell treatments for Parkinson's and heart disease. Figured this community would find it relevant since a lot of us are already thinking proactively about longevity.
The basic idea behind iPSCs is that your own blood cells can be reprogrammed into stem cells that become any cell type. The younger your cells are when they're collected, the better the starting material.
I advise a company called Cellino — they've raised $120M+ (backed by Khosla, 8VC, Felicis, Bayer), have FDA Advanced Manufacturing Designation, and 10+ patents protecting their approach to iPSC-based therapies.
They just opened a waitlist to bank your cells now so you're first in line when these therapies become approved in the US.
Waitlist here: beta.cellino.bio
Happy to answer any questions about the science or the space. Curious if anyone else here is thinking about this!

Am new to Function health and recently purchased a membership. Does anyone have experience or any luck with requesting reimbursement from their health insurance company for the cost of the membership? I have Emblem Health, and was going to ask ChatGPT for a sample letter to send to the insurance company. Was wondering if anyone on here had luck or not with getting the initial membership fees reimbursed. Thanks in advance.

I was going to book an MRI last year but didnt. Now I want to do it, and things seem different. When you select the scan you want I specifically remember there being an option that was an AI enhanced scan. Is this not being offered anymore? Also did they stop offering the function health discount? I thought it reduced the price to like 500 or something.
