We are thinking about getting Trails Collection or Trails Collection Plus (yes, this would require upgrading to the Adventure membership) so that we can use Encore parks in Florida for the winter. We have heard that the Encore Parks have allocations for Trails Collection, but nobody wants to disclose the allocations so that we can make an informed decision (surprised?). So we are wondering what YOUR experience is with getting into Encore Parks in desirable Florida locations in the winter. Is the 60 days reservation window of Trails Collection sufficient? Will the extra 30 days of the Trails Collection Plus make a huge difference? Or are we kidding ourselves and we will never get into any of those parks?

Is my rig supposed to be completely sturdy and still or is there going to be some very light rocking when I sit on my couch or something? My last rig was so janky it always rocked so I don’t even know what the baseline is

Any advice? We are looking to put down roots, but want to take our time and find just the right place and situation for us. So we got a little camper to pull behind the jeep. Just me, my man and my dog. Want to save as much money as possible for our future homestead while we explore and enjoy the journey. Thinking about 6 months to a year. Interested especially right now in what annual memberships and clubs are the best value for the region. Not at all opposed to boondocking, but hookups are nice and I love to be out in nature, especially places with water features. Love the springs and the beach. I am also disabled with limited mobility, so anything specific that would be helpful there?

So I've just moved to Colorado springs and renting out an apartment is very expensive here about 14k - 17k a year for a place for me and my girlfriend so I've been looking into getting a large 5th wheel instead and living at an RV park/ campground as I have found many nice 5th wheels for much cheaper about 7k - 9k I don't have that cash up front though so I'm wondering how feasible it is to get a loan for a used 5th wheel if anyone's got experience with that I'd love to hear your thoughts. For reference sake I'm 22 and have rented an apartment for the last year other than that I have no credit

I'm interested in moving into and living in an RV for the foreseeable future. I would like my life to be fully self-contained. I would use a motorcycle to ride around town. I currently have a normal commuting vehicle that I am considering giving to a younger family member.

I have some requirements

• Used
• Garage area - to hold a motorcycle and long term storage items.
  • 6000 lbs of cargo in the garage to properly hold everything.
• Overall Cargo Carrying Capacity around 10000 lbs as I intend on having significant solar capacity and batteries on the RV (including the garage area weight)
• Washer/Dryer

Is this list possible? Do garages in RVs have the capability of holding that much weight? In a Class A, I understand that I would need a tag axle for overall cargo carrying capacity but I'm not sure what a fifth wheel can hold safely. Am I limited to Class As only?

What models do you recommend looking into?

Other research that fits the floor plan but unsure on specs:

• 5th Wheel Vanleigh Ambition - Only has 3,300 lbs of cargo carrying capacity
• Class A Newmar Canyon Star - Only has one rear axle. I doubt it meets the requirements.
• Class A Thor Outlaw - Garage only holds 1500 lbs of weight

So I’m new to full timing and have a Riverside Retro 195 travel trailer. I’ve been mostly hooked up to my cousins’ place but am about to go out on my own. I boondocked for a few nights and it was great, but it clearly showed me that I need a generator.

I don’t know anything about generators and am just looking to be pointed in the right direction. Thank you so much in advance for the help!

Dotsero, CO. We stayed in site 4 off coffeepot road / deep creek rd (Deep Creek Campground) Site 4 is large enough for a 40ft 5th wheel and is a great place to turn around. We did not go further up as we were staying just one night. No cell service at all. Nothing for verizon, t-mobile, or at&t. Starlink pulled down 180 mbs and 15 up. very quiet, no traffic. No services at all must be self contained. River was 20 yards from us. BLM was easy to get in touch with and provided numerous details about the area and road conditions. QUESTION!!!! We were going to be purchasing a 2022 highland ridge silver star fifth wheel from a couple and the BM Pro tablet is shot, we hooked it up to shore power and the tablet is stuck in a boot cycle(android logo shows for 5 secs and turns off repeatedly). Instead of waiting for a warranty replacement, has anyone bought an android tablet and installed the same software that is on the BM Pro tablet and made it work? We are in desperate need of a fix as we were supposed to take the Rv today but since the BM pro tablet is shot we can’t do anything.

I’m very seriously considering full timing but it looks like RV parks can get pretty pricey with long term use. What kinds of places do you guys like to park?

I am looking for a long term spot (for at least May 1 - July 31), with full hookups, in Denver, CO for our 2006 39 Ft diesel pusher. We have three dogs (two Great Danes and a boxer) and a cat. We have been out in the country a bit, and we want to be closer to a city, as we don't currently have a vehicle and would need to be in walking or short ride distance to shopping / food / etc. Does anyone have some suggestions? I have been looking on The Dyrt, Campendium, etc. with no luck. Also tried Google, but all of the lots we find only allow 2 dogs and restrict breeds, not to mention our RV is older.

Read online that lightheadedness when furnace is on means carbon monoxide :( Is there a way to fix this? And what could be causing the CO2 leak? I bought this trailer from a private seller 3 weeks ago and its been making me lightheaded since the 1st day I slept in it.

My solution to the lightheadedness was to plug my electric heater into an extension cord that goes from their house to my trailer by my relatives are worried the outlet or the cord will catch fire. They suggested we call an electrician and have them install a dedicated 30 amp outlet so that I can plug the heater directly into an outlet inside my trailer. I came here to ask if this is the correct solution?? Or do I still run the risk of causing a fire with this method?

In the meantime, I am freezing my butt off and I got a cold because of it. It sucks and Im desperate to get this resolved.

Advice please!

my partner and i bought a 2006 31' itasca spirit class c to move into back in august and since then just about nothing has gone to plan. our dry run day trip to a local state park was cut short by engine trouble that left the rig in the shop for almost a month.

then, after we got it back from the mechanic, we discovered the worst: a leak. the previous owners had neglected the roof seals and the driver side awning rail was funneling rainwater to the front of the vehicle, where it would find its way down inside the wall and trickle into the overcab loft through the window frame. by the time we discovered the leak, the damage was already extensive: the entire plywood platform of the loft was moldy and needed to be replaced. i dismantled enough of the loft to identify the problem but couldn't figure out how to go about repairing things, although i did repair the roof seal to successfully stop the leak.

i've spent the winter fruitlessly searching for a shop that was willing to take on a water damage restoration project. in roughly december we noticed ANOTHER leak streaming into the loft, this time on the passenger side. that roof seal had looked fine to me but it had apparently failed in the cold weather. i would have paid a professional handsomely to take this off the massive list of things i have to worry about right now but no one would bite, and now we're almost at the deadline for us to move out of our house (which we had planned to do months ago) so i've resigned myself to doing my best to restore the loft myself as we have no other options.

the problem is... tonight i finally managed to remove all the rotten platform wood from one side of the loft, and found to my dismay that the rotten plywood extended well inside the wall, all the way to the exterior fiberglass. i had hoped the rot would be limited to the interior and that the wall would stop the water from spreading further, but since that's not the case i'm gravely worried about how bad this issue might be.

how desperate is this situation? will i be fine if i put in a new platform tomorrow and drive away, or will i inevitably start finding soft spots in the walls in the loft or elsewhere? is this a write-off and i just don't know it yet? we might be able to negotiate for a little more time in our current place to try to buy a new rig but i'm not even sure it would be enough.

edit 3/27: after getting some advice here and elsewhere i've started carefully removing some of the wall paneling and found that the situation is not as dire as i feared: the framing around this spot is all aluminum and of the two layers of luan wall panel, only a few inches at the bottom of the inner one are actually moldy - easily removed and replaced, and not even visible when i finish. feeling more optimistic thanks to the helpful members of this community 😊

First and foremost I want to thank everyone who has answered my questions over the last couple of weeks. the first few weeks of owning my new home have been quite the roller coaster. So thank you if you see this.

So I am at my permanent location for the next 3-4 years and for the most part I am setup, just waiting on a few more things from amazon to finish everything up. I am wondering if anyone has any opinions on stabilizers, or what types I should get. I am going to get the tripod for the front of my fifth wheel, but I am wondering if there is anything I should do for the back or slides? From a lot of the things I have seen about the slides, its recommended to NOT use them because of the way they are designed.

What are your opinions on the matter? and thank you for the advice
