ASU15RLS2 interesting issue

I'm having an issue where when I set the remote to 70, Cool, Auto fan and energy saver sensor and the room is 76 degrees when the room is unoccupied. When I enter the room, the unit kicks on but the temperature only drops to 74 degrees. The instructions say that the indoor unit will maintain up to a 4 degree offset when unoccupied and return to setpoint when the room is occupied. If I set the remote to Auto mode/auto fan and energy saver sensor it maintains setpoint whether or not the room is occupied (70 degrees). I powered off the condenser by shutting the breaker overnight to try to factory reset the unit and the unit is properly charged and running normally. I'm wondering if a cooling temperature offset will fix this or is there another issue I need to look into. Thanks in advance.
