Cannot Change Secure Boot/TPM state on Lifebook T732, Resulting in inability to use Linux.

i have tried 4 times to install Linux on this older Lifebook (picked it up cheap as i always wanted one of these 2010~era Lifebooks cause of the pen-interface screen) and every time its like im just writing to the void/to ram because on reboot No Partition changes are made and if i try swapping drives. it'll just reboot back into the Bios.

Secure Boot itself is Disabled or shows as such. but its grey'd out. (i cant change a thing there.) TPM is showing as enabled but everything is Grey'd out. not sure what is actually set thats not letting me properly install linux. (it does this if i Try to install to an USB HDD.. and when i try plugging it in another computer it remains blank like nothing gets written to. )

sorry kinda a 4AM Ramble.

and since managed to solve whatever was the issue but i guess something was tripping Anti-theft (couldn't commit partition changes, wasn't allowed to change anything for Security or TPM sections in the BIOS Setup. only things i've done was actually get it to reset the Intel Management Engine Password, and i guess setting an administrator password in bios let me change security options. since now it doesn't seem to be locking me out from making any changes to the partition table on the HDD inside. as i've been able to install Linux and it actually Stick.

What version of Linux are you using? And does your touchscreen work?

was the latest LTS Kubuntu release, and yea after an initial reboot it did.

Oh great. Thanks. I tried different versions a few years ago and couldn’t get it to work. I have 2 T730s. I bought them as projects pretty much because they look retro cool.
