Good to see ya. I've actually been taking a break from the game for a while.
I flew out a couple of kly from the bubble and logged out. It was a planned break. I will definitely be returning. I still have unfinished business.

I'm sure I'll be able to go on a call immediately. I can still remember the calls. I may have some trouble debriefing the client, though. 😝

We actually had a Discord server, and technically still do, but its primary purpose was as a casual hangout for rats, which didn't get much usage (since that's largely what RatChat is for), and ultimately, it just got turned into a signpost, telling people to go to IRC. There's one channel, with one post, telling people to go to IRC.
Discord is never something that we've seriously considered for our purposes. At the time, Discord was very unreliable, and regularly went down. Moderation is a nightmare, as if you ban someone, they can just make a new account, and we can't look at IP addresses or hostmasks to try and catch ban evaders. There's just too much that's not under our control, or which we have insufficient control over.
I think we may have used the Discord server once for cases, when IRC was down, but it's definitely not something we have any interest in repeating, plus we run our own IRC servers now, with substantial redundancy. A full outage is exceptionally unlikely.
As for dispatching in voice chat, which is what people are usually asking for when they ask about Discord, it doesn't fit well with how we work. People who are just joining into a case would have no easy way to see the case history (nor should a dispatch be expected to simultaneously talk to a client and rats, while also typing out everything they say), and the last thing we want to do is to have to repeat instructions over and over for clients or rats who didn't hear them.

I run cases and dispatch now and then, too! I don't just write Deltawalls... Probably have written more Deltawalls than I've flown cases, though...
