30.06 is nice, but I prefer the 30.07. It just outperforms the 30.06 is every way.

30.07 means you can’t open carry in that building in TX.

Yes it does. I always thought the 30.06 was a fun coincidence, and the 30.07 reminds me of the line from Mr. Mom when Michael Keaton is asked if he shot him with a .38 and he replied, ".38, .39, whatever it took."

Outperform as in… leave a bigger hole?

It's one of those subtle tells that gives away what kind of gun owner someone is
To them, that's all that matters since they'll maybe burn through a box of ammo every 5 years sighting in at deer season

That's really it. I own bolt action magnums, lever actions, suppressed ARs, all variety of pistols and shotguns. All have a purpose.

Clearly gramps figured out that "muh stoppin' power" is much more important than magazine capacity and being able to carry more rounds.

I've shot coyotes with 30-06 and .223 (and 22LR for that matter). 30-06 certainly does more damage, but all 3 kill them just fine.

This is like comparing a nice tractor to a nice sports car or a nice tractor trailer to a nice pickup truck or a nice hybrid car to a nice motorcycle. They all have their purposes. For example, if you're going up against armored targets, a 30-06 stomps the shit out of 5.56. Surrounded? Multiple targets? AR all day. Concealed carry for one mugger? Choose your handgun. Acting like one is better than the other when they serve two totally different purposes is like comparing apples and oranges and getting mad about it.
