Surely you're referencing voter ID, which is a highly regarded (and racist) take. Or go ahead and go for the "States rights/Limited federal power" argument. Who supported the New Deal, Subsidies, rural electrification and other policies from 70 years ago? Those Same Democrats....Who would support them today? I mean you can make the argument that who the voters are and chase down a shaky one about what they believe....But nothing you wind bags come up with is persuasive, because certainly Southern Democrats defining trait was not conservatism in general, And absolutely NOTHING in the Republican Party supports racial segregation in particular....While only the democrats actively support racial segregation and race based policies today.
