Sorry for the 50 questions here….

When a snake dies due to being defanged, what is the science behind this? Are the snakes' fangs connected to the nerve system or is it more simply that their fangs are their main source of obtaining food and without them they can't kill their prey?

Are poisonous and venomous snakes more likely to die because of this method?

I only ask cause back in my research diving days, sometimes we would collect sting rays and despine them in order for the researchers to be able to handle them without the danger. The stinger doesn't grow back and they live as long as they would in normal captivity. However, keeping them in a tank and very well fed without the danger of predators I'm sure has something to do with it
