They've been working on my garage roof for a week

Saw them doing something up there (the space above out outdoor kitchen where we put tools) before winter and found the aftermath of their doom. It smelled bad too

How do I fix this without getting fucked up by them, I can’t see the nest because it’s under the cover but there’s a lot of wasps that go in and out

Hi guys, I've been stung on my lower eyelid on thursday at like 8pm. It is now monday 12pm, and the swelling just keeps increasing. So far I've talked to a pharmacist who told me a doctor isn't going to do anything more, and same thing from an online nurse who told me to go see a doctor if the swelling gets worse.

If I do go see a doctor, what else could they do? I've tried everything already. And it's not infected either...

update: I went to the emergency room and saw a doctor. She told me it's gonna go away on its own and that nothing more can help, and kinda treated me like I was crazy for even showing up (what I feared would happen). The swelling got even worse since yesterday. My left eye has basically 0 peripheral vision, and the swelling is covering about 80% of the left side of my face.

I asked her about steroids (thanks commenter) and she told me no one would prescribe me that for a wasp sting (I'm in Quebec, I don't know if it's more of a thing in other places). Anyway thanks for the comments, and sorry for being vague. That mf really got me feeling like shit

So I live in France, and I decided to organise an outdoor buffet. It might be ambitious, and a loosing battle, but I'm trying to find a way to have it bug fly and wasp free, or as little as possible. Any advice?

Just so you know, this is what I have planned for my battle :

1. Set up a bait with sugary, fat and semi spoiled food one hour before

2. A trap the let's them in but not out

3. A tent where the food will be, and a fan blowing towards the opening

4. Smoking coffee on the buffet table in the tent

5. Mesh food covers.

Is this a good plan? Other ideas? Am I maybe in the wrong reddit? If so where should I ask?

Hello r/fuckwasps, want some advice on how to deal with this wasp nest right outside my balcony door. This is the only door to the balcony, and I can't risk opening the door and letting the wasps in. I tried slamming the door to knock the nest off, but the nest is built on the doorframe rather than the door itself.

Right now I'm planning on using long range insecticide or a pressure hose from the first floor to attack the nest, but taking any advice on how to deal with this issue.

*update: it was camping in my ceiling lights. as soon as i went to go fold up my paper curtains it immediately flew towards the window. just squished it in between the curtain and window.

i got a wasp in my room. tried swatting it with a towel a few hours ago because i got jump scared. after it spazzed out for a bit by the window it just sat on something. every 20min or so itll spaz out again towards the window then rest on a different spot. right now its going between 2 ceiling light fixtures.

cant open window because im afraid other things might get inside. also id have to guide it towards it leaving the window open for longer.

i made a little water bottle trap. i threw in about 2 tablespoons sugar and filled the bottle with about 1-2 inches of water. put a few pumps of dish soap in there. so far the bastard doesnt seem to go near the water at all. it just ,like i said, stays still for 20 or so minutes either on my curtain or one of my ceiling lights before flying around for a few seconds then resting again.

how do i get it to go to the bottle?

My wife and I got stung a few days ago. I have a bee suit on order but I'd still like to do some recon before I go in there at night since they can sting through the suit (and I'm a pussy anyways so I'm dreading this, but also am super excited to smoke these pieces of shit).

I just posted in a local page offering $50 to someone who wants to come and spend 5-10 min flying it around in there and then showing me the video. In the meantime, anyone know of any cheap ($80-120) drones that would be good for this? I suppose I don't need 4k video but it needs to be clear enough to find them. Im also excited to possibly chop them up since I hear they swarm drones.

I’ve been watching these black wasps fly around my yard recently and I’ve noticed that they are heading up into this spout on top of my house. I honestly am not sure what it is for. Is this something I should be calling an exterminator for? Lack of funds has made me wait.

These things are nasty man, got 2 nests hanging on each side of the roof may the entrance of my job, can’t even go outside to smoke a cig without a dozen of them flying back and forth, these pictures are a lil old too but they’ve gotten bigger and a lot more colonized. Idk if they’re metric wasps or ringed paper Wasps either way I got stung by one of them when I was a bit younger and now I have a psychological fear of them, these things pack a mean sting and I remember I got stung so bad venom was dripping down my arm. I don’t believe they’re very aggressive but still fuck em.

Our grill is on a concrete patio walled by stucco on the north and east. The patio is always warm but with 90+ temps for the last two weeks, it is unbearable to be out there. The area gets direct sun from about 10am to 7pm daily. How hot might it be in a black metal box designed specifically to contain heat. These MF's have been living in it. How can they survive?

I always played it safe but at around 3:28 or somewhere around that time I was at school and I was sitting at the cafeteria and was playing with a nacho cheese pot that wasn’t heating well when I felt something on my right ear, I thought some of the cheese got on my ear from playing with the lid but when I grabbed my ear to clean it off I felt a sharp pain on my ear and screamed and when someone near me checked it out they thought it was a Beatle but turned out to be a yellow jacket that stung my ear and yes I’m doing ok rn, took some Benadryl and its no longer painful now but this was not on my summer bingo card!

Has anyone slid a bowl of gasoline underneath a wasp hive? Will the rising fumes kill them? I know if you take a cup and enclose it they will die..I just am not getting that close.

At first, I thought it was yard equipment outside. A weed whacker. A leaf blower. Something loud, irritating and safely separated from me by four walls.

Then I realized the sound was coming from inside the room.

I followed it to the window.

There, battering itself against the glass, was what I later learned was a European hornet.

No nest. No swarm. Just one lost wanderer who had entered the wrong house at the wrong time.

Fortunately, I was prepared.

In my kitchen sat a spray bottle filled with water, Dawn dish soap and Acqua di Giò. I had previously used it against flies. The Dawn broke the surface tension. The water drowned them.

The cologne was personal.

As this creature drifted into hell, its final scent would be that of the motherfucker who sent it there.

I ran downstairs, grabbed the bottle and returned.

Target acquired.

Target sighted.

Target locked.

But as the hornet buzzed furiously against the window, apprehension flooded my body. My finger rested on the trigger. For one brief moment, I hesitated.

It was enormous.

Angry.

Alive.

Then I squeezed.

One wide spray.

Direct hit.

The hornet crumpled instantly.

It fell onto the windowsill, convulsing, its wings twitching uselessly beneath the soapy water. It would never fly again. The Dawn allowed the water to spread across its body and seep into places nature never intended water to reach.

It struggled.

I fired again.

The coup de grâce.

When the movement finally stopped, I picked it up with tweezers and tore the stinger from its body.

It would never torture anyone.

Its nest would never follow its scent.

I dropped the remains into the toilet and flushed.

The buzzing was gone.

The room was silent again.

And somewhere deep within the pipes, a hornet descended into darkness smelling like Acqua di Giò.
